Good luck fella. Seems a bit risky to me, when there are so many other places asking for subscriptions, but at least you're giving it a go. I have notoriously bad judgement when it comes to business chances, so maybe if I think you have little chance, you're already one up. Maybe a business guru on here can give you some input. Bon chance, as the froggies say!

Afternoon all,

Bit of a shameless plug really, but I have wanted to do this for months. I've created a Leicester City newsletter on Substack. This is probably the worst time to start an LCFC blog, what with no football on for nearly three months. However, with cash rumoured to be thin on the ground I'm hoping that we revive our interest in 48-year-old Nicky Maynard once more so I have something to write about over the summer

In all seriousness, It’s essentially a newsletter discussing all things involving Leicester City. I will create a variety of different content from features, opinion and tactical insight. I’ll also incorporate humour whilst hopefully make it informative, fun and enjoyable to read. Whether it's remembering former players (for good or bad reasons), or anniversaries of key events in our history, I'll be sure to have it covered. Also very happy to hear any requests for articles they want discussed.

I'll be looking to publish 1/2 articles a week, one paid and one free article. Only an email address is required to subscribe, with the option to be a free subscriber or chuck £4 a month if you're comfortable with doing so, something that I would be incredibly grateful for. The eventual aim is to build a decent sized dedicated readership and be able to make this a full-time thing... Easier said than done though!

The first piece is on James Maddison and his failure to make Southgate's latest England squad.

The Site and Twitter is attached below. Would hugely appreciate all that subscribe! :scarf:

Haha can't say I disagree with you mate! I guess I feel ignoring my passion would be slow suicide and I can't ignore what my heart pumps for. If it doesn't go well then at least I know I tried! Maybe I'll initially start the blog free of charge and if people do enjoy the content then I can offer a paid subscription somewhere down the line? Would appreciate it if you give it a subscribe though, only need an email! :schmike:

Good luck, wether it works financially or not it will only add to your credentials if writing is a career option.

I mean 41 posts on here, have to admire the balls. Not sure why the good folks of Foxestalk are going to start slinging you £4 a month when they can listen to me for free though. Perhaps I should start charging Mark for my presence on here, will help pay that second mortgage off on me holiday home in Milan thinking about it.

But yeah, best of luck and all that.

On the article itself, some decent points made. Wasted far too much time talking about lock down breaches and full backs though.

Its ultimately the Southgate system and the difference to our own that makes it difficult for madders to get a place in the squad, i could break that down but you know, £4 please Mark.

....personally I have just started to watch Heisenberg's Roof!!!

It has a lot of followers, and at a very good price, always seems to get a lot of late night requests. It does seem to have some dodgy principles and even shadier characters running the show, but it really ain't all that BAD.

New post for those interested, it might bring back some very depressing memories though!

If you enjoy, then please comment/subscribe. It's free and only requires an email address.

Need the facts right! Joe Hamill scored in a win against Bury, not defeat.

Actually thought Kevin Harper had a really good game away to Coventry under the dual managers of Howard Wilkinson and Dave Bassett. Made a few really good runs and crosses but was never seen again.

I wouldn't have said Levein's period was either exciting or him being charismatic.

Called sarcasm, I'll make sure to dumb it down to you simpler next time.

You're quite right haha. Only went by his Wiki and all I saw were the words League Cup defeat and Bury! lol

Way to gain new readers by pissing off the 10 you already have

For what it's worth, I read it the same way.

I know you're not the brightest mate, but that user only counts for one not ten.

Nothing like giving someone a bit of encouragement on here jeez. This always seems to be the case with any fan led project - unnecessary criticism.

Hope it goes well mate.

Good luck mate, hope it all works out for you and the posters on here get behind it. Nothing quite as satisfying as seeing some live out their passion & succeed in doing so. Well done to you for making the leap.

No worries. On holiday at the moment but will sign up as soon as I get back and happily donate £4 a month. If more of us get on board with this it could be great for you.

Thanks a lot bud, really appreciate that. I understand it may not be to everybody's taste, but if a few people enjoy it and it makes them laugh then it'll be worth it!
