  1. Turns out you know football better than most! kudos.
  2. Injustice? An England player (I think it was Fenwick) should have been sent off if the ref had spotted him elbowing Maradonna. And that second goal was justly named the best ever. So yes, poor refereeing, but we lost to a superb display by a legend.
  3. Could he seek re election in Clacton as vote of confidence from the ordinary folk vs establishment?
  4. Surprised (unless I missed one) there's no one who suggests Fire by Kasabian. < reads lyrics > Oh.
  5. World's moved on. Can you imagine Reagan, Carter or even Nixon getting away with the corruption that takes place with theDon?
  6. yeah, we were told by a delivery company today they are short staffed because of drivers calling in sick.. I suppose it's better that way than drivers (or surgeons) still under the influence after staying up late for the game.
  7. At least he'll be in a place where he can research/solve that eternal culinary issue - who has the best Indian restaurants, Bradford or Leicester?
  8. Used to be the case most of the pubs would close at the weekend. More stay open now because of tourism and the gentrifiers moving into the East End. Worth checking the fbook group London Pubs as they often have posts on good pubs in distinct areas.
  9. Given the numbers here who mention this place, there must have been some kind of Tardis effect. We'd often come in here once we'd parked up prior to the match, but it rarely felt over-full. Away fans would often be found in there too.
  10. Seemed to have a great rapport with the fans, particularly the Koppites. Never quite the same after Shrewsbury nobbled him.

    The Weather

Some nice stormy wet weather this morning, 4 to 5am, on the south coast near Hastings. Now mainly cloudy but feeling very warm in any sunshine.
  12. We didn't have any choice, but selling Kante for £30 million was the worst.. still we rinsed Man U for Harry so swings and roundabouts..
  13. For people (like me) of a certain age
  14. I asked Chatgpt who was the richest person living in Leicestershire. It's between John Bloor, David Wilson and Sir Will Adderley (Dunelm).
  15. To be fair I don't get this from most Leicester fans. We know we've blown it now for a number of years, and the good times are over. It takes a special kind of mindset to have the delusion that the Florist fans had. Few other (if any) club fan bases could have that mentality.
  16. In case it's not already posted somewhere here...
  17. Reminds me more of Arteta.
  18. I think a lot of this attitude stems from the Filbert Street days. Although some of us loved the atmosphere there, it suffered from only having 2 big sides - and the television coverage made it look worse by filming from the main stand and looking over at the East Stand. At one point we could only get 21,000 tops (if I recall correctly) so outsiders assumed our fanbase was small.
  19. He's a Blues fan...oh Chelsea... We're stuck with Roy Cropper then. his name is David too.
  20. Two more contenders - Stevie Wonder and Bob Marley.
  21. Back in the day, U2 Police and Dire Straits were huge, but yes maybe Michael eclipsed them.
  22. Sounds the perfect way to invest (not that I'm qualified to say so). Regular drip-feeding and using a ISA to avoid tax. Let us know in 20 years how it turns out!
  23. Good old St George. He loved our land so much he never visited the place.
