He can't really though can he? You massively overestimate the power a head coach (which is what the manager role is nowadays) has. He's not gonna be able to overrule the board and the commercial team when they organise these tours for the money, because they will just turn round and tell him no, the tour is big for revenue and it's happening

He's a mana....head coach in an unsackable position with a worldwide fan base wrapped around his little finger (rightfully so for what he's achieved there) he and the club know there's no one better to replace him with he has a hell of a lot more power in that boardroom than you are giving him credit for.

Imagine the outrage on Merseyside if he put his foot down over pointlessly traveling to Thailand to play Manchester United and they sacked him.

There would be riots.

He could have easily and politely told them to f**k off.

Say he does that and they sack him. Does that impact their commercial revenue in Asia more or less than doing brand building tours there?

You really forget that the amount of money in football means that the actual game comes second to commercial interests. It's more a business than a sport now

In this case it almost certainly works against them. It'll be a massive shock if Liverpool are anywhere near as good as they've been once Klopp leaves.

In terms of games in a season, lucky for Klopp, he has 25 over 21s and unlimited u21s that he can play during a season, so the only person who's responsible for the health of his players is him. There are plenty of leagues where he can run his chosen XI into the ground every week if he wants to. He doesn't have to do that in England though. Him and Guardiola often don't even use their full quota of subs.

He just wants to redzone his best players every game and wants everyone to bend to what suits him.

Potentially yes it does. The best way to guarantee commercial revenue in Asia is by being successful in English and European football, that's why Manchester United and Liverpool are so big over there.

Sacking klopp puts everything liverpool have built over the last 6 years at risk.

I'm not forgetting anything.

I just find that klopps silence on that friendly rings louder than any of his complaints

Isn't that what the lad said in his first sentence?

Money men seeing profit and forgetting how it gets there in the first place? Could never happen

Your point is that you're wrong? I mean, odd choice of hill to die on.

Klopp doesn't have power to stop the club doing these world tours, no manager does at any club, so speaking out about player well-being is all he's really got as an option, and it's a good manager who speaks out about how any industry hurts its employees...

Huh? Have you read what I've posted? Are you really trying to defend this clown? The guy is UNSACKABLE. He has the nerves to complain about fixtures when the board that pays him thousands per minute treats the team like a circus to make more money and he doesn't say anything to them. I'm sorry but I'm struggling to understand your logic.

I mean obviously I'm gonna defend him when he's right? Fixture congestion is ridiculous and it puts player safety at risk. How much he gets paid doesn't negate anything he says about it.
