What about our local favourite... Vesty.....     Id 100% be taking a slight pay cut to play football! Especially in the world cup year.

I find it a little baffling he didnt fancy fulham or bournemouth even if he was losing 20k to go there.  Thats one where my love for football would out weigh money.  You are still going to be very well off but id much rather play the game and lose a few quid.

Id quit my job now if I could play football as a pro for half the wage. Probably a 1/4 if I could survive.

Possibly football, as a career, isn't perhaps as glamorous as we think and after a while you just get stale with it all as it becomes,  to some, a monotonous job.

In Vestergaards position it would also depend on family and how settled any kids were. Let's not forget, he'd not long uprooted them from Southampton and moved to Leicester, presumably expecting to play and with certain ambitions on mind. Fulham is a decent club but at his age, is he desperate to commute or live in London? I wouldn't be. Even if the money was the same if it meant disruption to his family possibly not. As for his country, he's been there, done that, so many times and it's not as if they stood much chance of winning anything.

I know of two fairly recent academy products of ours that were offered pro contracts at Stoke and Burton. Both turned them down, both went to university, one in the UK one in the States. Both having been at Leicester since around 8yrs old had now had fully fallen out of love with the game completely, one had even represented his country. Both missed their friends and 'normal' life and just wanted out. It's easy to judge from the outside but all that glitters is not gold to some.

I'd want to move to the clubs with the most ambition / likelihood of winning trophies - though this is most likely to be the best bidder.

I'd only want that move if I was confident I'd have a decent size role in that success. I could live with being Mahrez at Man City where I'm not a guaranteed starter but I get my share of games, but I wouldn't want to be a Jack Rodwell or what Kelvin Phillips will probably end up being, where you barely play and you throw away a few years of your career.

Fofana: I‘d move. Massive wages and more likely to play for France. Plus the chance to live in London, rather than Leicester. I wouldn’t be petulant though. Chance to play European football.

Mahrez: I’d move. Massive wages and arguably the best team and manager in world football. You’ll play less but earn more, win a lot more. Chance to play Champions League football is guaranteed.

Youri: Wait it out and see what offers I get in the summer.

Simpson: Depends what’s on offer.

I think il be one of those players who would come back and play for the team the gave me the opportunity to go wherever I wanted. That obviously if I was a world class player and near the end same good 2/3 years left in me lol

I'd put a transfer request in!

Manager who lacks the ability to positively effect the club and teammates who can't appear to motivate themselves, having bad day after bad day and not wanting to take responsibility. If that was my office, I would be looking elsewhere
