Your Pre-Season Predictions

I know I joke about pissing it, but that’s trying to add a smidge of positivity to the situation. 
 

The start reality is, we have no idea what kind of shape the team is in. There are still players here who are possibly too good to play at this level, but they reportedly don’t want to be here….. Mavididi will be a huge bonus, but we need more attacking quality. 
 

Defensively we’ve no idea how we will cope, Coady is a good addition, but he’s potentially out for a stretch now, which leaves us uncertain of who will play. 
 

The pre season tour shows that the club have just picked financial gain over football, and this could be detrimental….. a poor start to the season will put Maresca on the back foot from the offset, and this won’t make for a successful campaign. 
 

If we are searching for positives, we looked fairly efficient against Northampton…. Without looking too exciting. My hope is we start fairly efficiently, winning games by one goal, or drawing…. Just don’t lose, then as the squad grows and starts to gel we can kick it up a gear.

 

It is imperative that we get out of the division this season, this club is no longer designed to play at this level. If we don’t, the consequences could be dire, and we face a very uncertain future. 
 

I hold out some hope the sheer size of the club can do a West Ham and a Newcastle, and bounce straight back. 
 

But it’s a gamble at this stage, it really is.

2/3rds of the season now played, worth checking in on those preseason predictions, how are they looking?

Looking through I think @Wymseyhas just about the best predictions based on what’s happening so far.
