Just watched the highlights, two things stick out.

1. Swathes of empty seats in the top tier

2. How on earth was the Uruguay goal not offside? Bloke heads it from the cross and Olivera a good half a yard offside taps in rebound. Stevie Wonder in the VAR booth?

Seems the ref didn’t like being criticised afterwards either .

Even though it's a CONMEBOL referee, we colloquially refer to this as getting CONCACAFed.

Kidding aside, it almost never goes well when you're relying on the ref. The US went into the match with their fate in their own hands, and couldn't finish (literally).

As for the empty seats, Arrowhead holds more than any PL stadium, and it's not like Uruguay, whose population is 1/100th the United States, has the global following of the other South American giants...Messi and Argentina were at MetLife stadium last week, the cheapest tickets to get in were over $200. Many stadiums have not been full in the tournament.

I’m based in NorCal and I’ve really enjoyed watching the euros during the day and copa in the evenings.

Have to profess they are like two entirely different tournaments in every way. The referee officiating for copa is diabolical and just fuels the on field chaos. Most teams are playing at break neck speeds in a counter attack on steroids style of play.

this has led to a demolition derby of players clattering into each other and rolling all over the place. There is zero control. As for the stadiums it’s very messy. I tried to get tickets for the Brazil vs Columbia game and cheapest tickets were $200+ each. That’s a whopping $700 outting for me and my son Inc travel. It’s daylight robbery.

I heard the stadium tried to offload tickets for $140 an hour before the game in a last ditch effort to sell out. It makes me angry.

Anyway, Columbia look bloody good so hope they make it to the final. I’d like to se Uruguay get knocked out by Brazil as I can’t stand them. Now that the US are out hope Canada can go further but they gotta start scoring goals asap! Argentina progressing all depends on Messi’s fitness

I think Canada can get the win over Venezuela tomorrow.

I feel we have a good chance. I prefer playing South American teams over Central.

But, like @cruzFOX said, we need to score goals. Only one in this so far and one at the last WC.
