  1. Sounds like the plot of Happy Gilmore. Is he also a washed out hockey player? Some of these scores are wild this morning. And right on cue, Herbert puts one into the gallery...
  2. Scheffler 4 under through 6. Guess we shouldn’t be surprised by this his type of scoring from him.
  3. Dave Matthews Band with some friends who are big fans. I can’t say I’m as into it as those around me, but it’s a good show, band is super talented.
  4. Appreciate it…The other team earned it, and now to be hated by the world, while getting spanked. Can’t even call it schadenfreude. Could be worse…imagine if Faes made this Belgium lineup and scored the winner.
  5. Oh cool, a Cov striker
  6. Exactly what the world wanted from this match. And well-deserved.
  7. This is karma well deserved so far. Not even bothered.
  8. That’s the relegation-level Youri we all remember.
  9. Fair point, and wasn’t a statement about the red card, my sympathies are now that he’ll become a pawn in this whole mess that will get misused for political gain.
  10. Trying to tread carefully with this reply, lest this becomes the General News thread. On one hand, FIFA is so corrupt, so I guess why not try it? On the other hand, a US Supreme Court decision this week went against the president, in which he illegally tried to outlaw something in the constitution. Had it gone his way, Balogun would no longer be considered a US citizen. But now only a few days later, now they celebrate him. Disgusting. Everyone in this scenario can get bent…except for Balogun, I feel for the guy.
  11. Mel Brooks turns 100 today. A good reason to revisit Blazing Saddles, History of the World, or any of his other gems.
  12. Won’t be in town for the match, but I know of a couple good places in Bergen County. Never been to it, but I’ve heard decent things of Tommy Fox’s in Bergenfield. Blarney Station in Rutherford (next to the train station) is an old favorite spot, and it’s close enough to MetLife you might find supporters in there. Guinness with Irish bartenders. The real gem is down the shore. D’Arcy’s Tavern is top tier, but pretty far for you. Any of those are still better than mass transit into NYC on a matchday. Enjoy!
  13. NJ-based, where’s your location?
  14. Philadelphia is one of the few World Cup venues that has a grass pitch year round. Many others use artificial turf. I’d tend to think their drainage system is up to the challenge…Can’t recall any drainage issues in years of watching NFL games at this stadium, too.
  15. Wouldn’t be surprised if it goes longer. There was a tornado warning during the match, a little west of the stadium. The current alerts around here are intense.
  16. No locker is safe in that clubhouse…
  17. Solid itinerary, agree with you on the Texas report, too. Visit a Buc-ees if you have the chance before you head back north. Can’t really explain it, it just has to be experienced. Bring your appetite. Was just in Massachusetts on Friday, weather was perfect. If you like beer, visit one of the Tree House Brewing locations once you’re back in Boston- there’s a small outpost on Cape Cod, and a pop up location at Faneuil Hall.
  18. Tree House Brewing never disappoints. End of the Rainbow Orange DIPA The Pineappliest Green DIPA Old Man ESB
  19. Another +1 for Iceland. Can’t speak about it from a cruise perspective, but the scenery and splendor once you got away from the heavy traffic areas, unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Best fish and chips I’ve ever had, too.
  20. Seeing Booker T. Jones tomorrow night. Iconic organist and songwriter from Booker T and the MG's, co-wrote a good chunk of Otis Redding's catalog, too. And of course, there's this gem for those who like cricket.
  21. Ayew already in mid-season form. Credit to his consistency?
