Was to close to the player never a peno

Keep seeing this said and also PGMOL stated it but there is no such law

this is the IFAB law of the game

Handling the ball:

For the purposes of determining handball offences, the upper boundary of the arm is in line with the bottom of the armpit. Not every touch of a player's hand/arm with the ball is an offence.

It is an offence if a player:

deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball

touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger.

A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player's body movement for that specific situation.

By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised

If they deem that a natural position for the arm then they've set a very dangerous precedence for any decision from now on.

We all know there's no consistency though. They don't even try to hide the corruption in this league any more.

That wouldn't even get as far as a VAR check for certain teams, the ball would already be on the penalty spot.

Watching on tv I thought straight the way it was a penalty. Hit his arm in an unnatural position.

I couldn’t for the life of me understand why it wasn’t shown on MOTD, but also neither was the foul we should’ve had in the build up to the Bournemouth disallowed goal.
