Except he didn't.

Three of the first-choice players (Fuchs, Kanté, and Okasaki) in the title side never played for him, while three others (Simpson, Drinkwater and Albrighton) were only fringe players.

In addition, Mahrez, Vardy and Morgan all improved massively under Ranieri, plus Schmeichel was a Sven-Goran Eriksson signing.

Even Pearson's own coaches admitted the great escape was largely down to Esteban Cambiasso's leadership on the field rather than the manager's off it.

All Pearson signings or identified by Pearsons team. Ranieri didn't want Kante and had to be persuaded

Where's your source for this bit? And which coaches?

Source?.....Trust me bro

It smells like bs but happy to be corrected if wrong.

I know there was a general consensus with fans that Cambiasso was a good leader on the pitch but 'Pearson's own coaches admitting our great escape was down to Cambiasso's leadership on the pitch rather than the manager'? Sounds a stretch.

The change/pivotal moment that season was the signing of Huth.

Only came into this thread to find the weird killjoys who claim to be Leicester fans but hold a grudge or hatred against Pearson. Every single time Nigel is mentioned on this forum they come crawling out of the woodwork.

Proper weird behaviour to still have nothing but respect and gratitude for what that man did to the club. A club in its knees and had reached its lowest ebb after years of mediocrity. Pulled us up by our bootstraps and pressed the reset button on this club... twice.

Gave us 08/09, the great escape of 14/15, the emotions of 09/10 and put us in the position to win the Premier League.

I refuse to believe anyone who doesn't like/love/adore/thank/appreciate NP for what he did in two spells here actually supports this club. History won't be kind to the anti-NP lot, especially the state we're in now.

(BTW this isn't about the Ranieri/Pearson debate. CR is a legend in his own right, and the feelings, media coverage and way we were in 15/16 were unique to him and him alone. He'll always be the man who took us to the very top and for that he'll always, for me, stand shoulder to shoulder with Nigel (albeit for different reasons.)

Definitely a strange breed. They seem to be the exact same sort of fan who looks smug when we lose. As if turning up to games and laughing at others who care is the best thing about their week. I don't get what they get out of it.

It's very weird BS. Ignore.
