Durnerz Posted 25 September 2004 Posted 25 September 2004 Ok, Pinocchio jokes aside, Currently coaching at Chester City, If we offered him the job, I'm sure he'd consider it, good discipline, managerial experience at the highest level, good coach of players, I think he'd make a good replacement, thoughts?
Ricey Posted 25 September 2004 Posted 25 September 2004 I think he would be good too. Good motivator and good tactically. No managerial experience though right?
Craig Posted 25 September 2004 Posted 25 September 2004 If Adams goes, Strachan or Hoddle are the only appointments i'd be happy with. But ideally i'd prefer Adams to stick this out and guide us to promotion.

Anish Posted 25 September 2004 Posted 25 September 2004 Still, at least he has passion and would give the players a good ole kick up the arse when they need it. We need a change and Thommo would be a good idea in my opinion.
Micky Posted 25 September 2004 Posted 25 September 2004 I think we'll end up going for a lower league manager!
Babylon Posted 25 September 2004 Posted 25 September 2004 Jesus.... the best you can come up with is phil thompson. Ridiculous.
Oli Posted 25 September 2004 Posted 25 September 2004 And you would sooner have micky. Dont make me laugh. Your a bigger joke than Micky himself.
Durnerz Posted 25 September 2004 Author Posted 25 September 2004 Whats wrong with Phil Thompson? (aside from his enormous conk) He was at Houlliers side when they won the treble (Worthington Cup, FA cup and UEFA cup), and in the same season helped manage the side for a certain period. Go on then Babylon, better my suggestion....

Babylon Posted 25 September 2004 Posted 25 September 2004 And you would sooner have micky. Dont make me laugh. Your a bigger joke than Micky himself. 21682 Get your own opinions mate, stop hanging on the coat tails of petrescu and BM. I have stuck up for micky and said give him 10-14 games, he's had his 10 and results haven't been good enough. I truely believe that had we not heaped so much pressure on the players from game 3 of the season things may be a little different. Unfortunately it happened and is only going to get worse. I believe given time, Micky would definately turn things around, i don't think it's time he's going to get though. The club, players, fans and manager no longer have any confidence in themselves or more importantly each other. Which makes me think there is only going to be one outcome, Micky leaving. Will it be good or bad, well only time will tell. A lot of fans need to look at themselves and how they have acted this season, to get on the teams back so quickly was a disgrace. I don't care how bad the performances were we should not have bood them after only four games. Confidence breeds success, with every boo we just sucked any confidence left out of the players, micky and ourselves. I fear for any manager coming into this job, are you all going to act like this when he loses his first three games, or doesn't pick tommy wright. I suspect you probably will. At the minute some fans are looking for excuses to have a go at adams, to be honest i'm suprised some of you haven't blamed the war in iraq or tornados in florida on micky. Yes he has made mistakes I know that, but some of the things he gets thrown at him are plain daft. When it gets like this i think it makes his position pretty untenable. Is it time to go... yes i think it is.

They say never go back, but i would think appointing the Tranmere Rovers manager would be interesting.

Buzzell Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Bring the guy in, its about time he started management. He would do a great job with his experience of Asistant Manager at Liverpool. Better then Adams by far.
Ash Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 I done think Thompson would want to move all the way down here just for a coaching job , hes alot closer to home with Chester and is properly very happy there aswell, so i dont think he would come
Teeno Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Just adding to this suggestion. I think Thompson would be a very decent replacment, but I agree with Babylon about having a leicester connection. So why not have someone with a Leicester connection as no2 who has worked with Thompson before like Gary Mac?
MON Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Didnt gagandeep your favourite poster post this. And you lot said what a stupid suggestion.
Babylon Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Didnt gagandeep your favourite poster post this. And you lot said what a stupid suggestion. 21950 It is a stupid suggestion. I seriously think some people want us to do a sheffield wednesday. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO RISK AN UNTRIED MANAGER!!! 10 games as caretaker of liverpool is not enough bloomin experience.
step Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Robson, looking for a job and he always up for a challange
