The more I here stuff like this the more I feel like maybe the "Top 6" should have gone and do a break away league and let them disappear for ever.

I couldn't agree more. Chelsea and Manchester United have been the main culprits in the financial ruin of the game by consistently pushing the boundaries with purchasing and wages.

This is what happens in a system where the strongest can accumulate wealth exponentially. Football is reflective of society and all other industries.

People talk of wages being the problem, that’s true but the root cause is the amount of money that the biggest clubs accumulate. Lesser clubs cannot realistically compete by spending within their means. It doesn’t have to be that way, we could regulate it or even prevent it from being a business at all. But ‘yeh, but…’ is always on behalf of money, not people.

Like everything in society, football has been ruined by money. I would argue that it’s such a farce, so corrupt, its competitors so removed from the average person, that only the most ostrich-like can convince themselves it has any human meaning or value anymore.

Sport, unlike society, should be competitive. But that competition should be played out on the pitch alone, not on paper and in boardrooms. This was inevitable from the moment we decided to let football become professional, though the Premier League and Champions League sped it up. Greed always wins in a money-oriented world.

The problem is clubs are losing a fortune in the championship chasing the premier league dream and the so called riches and then when they get there, despite the massive revenue increases somehow manage to lose significantly more. The game is out of control and unfortunately there appears to be a real lack of common sense being applied by the owners and decision makers.

all business sense and acumen goes out the window when somebody gets involved in football. Madness.

The problem is that any rules and regulations introduced are attempted to be bent and twisted rather than adhered to. I'm not hugely clued up (someone so follows rugby union closely would know) but the salary cap in that sport has proved contentious.

Chelsea losing £262 million in a year yet being compliant with Sustainability rules (when they were supposed to lose a maximum of £35 million, let's not forget) shows what other clubs are up against. It is a race to the bottom. Players do not need the wages they earn if it forces clubs to lose hundreds of millions of pounds. Same as any other industry.

The PL is set up to do well in Europe that's why there's no attempt to level the playing field.

They know that the better the 6 do in Europe the better the overseas income. Home income is guaranteed with Sky and the English fan.

Therefore high wages for the 6 to draw in the best players worldwide trickles down as other teams try to challenge those top spots. The players want parity so the high wages trickles further down the leagues.

One easy way to put a stop to the financial problems would be if all banks and money lenders were to call in their loans .

The football world would immediately collapse.

They could then start again on a more sensible basis.

Regardless of what is going on elsewhere, Dufkin is the Rachel Reeves of DoF's.  He has ruined this Club.

Another big problem is the difference in prize money between the Prem and the Championship. Going after that big money is the reason for the big wage contracts, then, if they can't move players on when they get relegated, clubs are stuck in the Championship with huge wage bills they can't afford.
