For those that listen to and enjoy The Country Music Show on BBC R", Thursdays, Bob has been absent for a few weeks and Darius Rucker is his stand in. (Poor, BTW)

 

Apparently his prostate cancer has spread to his upper spine and is causing him a lot of pain to the point where can't manage to broadcast his show, even from home.

 

Hope he recovers as for me, he has been a big part of my music listening over many years, from The Old Grey Whistle Test to Country to Country and the Long Road country music festival that takes place at Stanford Hall and is becoming more recognised.

I don't really know much about him, (aside from having watched some of the OGWT on YT - especially to send links to some of my erm.. 'internet forum' pals (no-not-this-one) in the US) - but I hope he gets better...  (Sod cancer! ) My Dad says he met him once, and I'm sure I remember my friend in leicester telling he played (music) with him once at a gig at an army barracks somewhere (Nottingham/shire) over 20yrs ago.
