Long way to go before he reaches the level of Roy Wegerle.

I remember the interview with Messi, where they asked him what it felt like to be the greatest of all-time and he said "I don't know, go ask Roy Wegerle".

I think he's a long way from Dempsey. Obviously hard to compare but Tim Howard played about 400 games in the Premier League

Pulisic is a decent player but it's more that he's arrived during a boom in popularity of football in America.

Big fan of his middle name being "mate" though lol

I would definitely have said Dempsey or Howard. I can't say Donovan though, mostly 'cuz I couldn't stand him lol

Long way to go before anyone reaches the level of Michelle Akers.  Best player on the pitch in every international match (that I saw).

I realize the standard of womens football was lower in the 1990s; but will we ever produce a male player who can completely take over a match?

As a national team player, it will be hard to top the likes of Donovan, Dempsey, or Howard. In terms of accomplishment at the (highest) club level? That will probably be Pulisic when it's all said and done.

The Trusty ankle injury is a serious concern going forward - "I heard a little something" is pretty ominous. He's not a starter but one of the 2-3 most important subs. Gives us a physical presence and is quite good on the ball.

Basically dominating Turkiye's first team with our B-team is a reflection of the depth in the American squad, though.

Yep—if you had to pick out the biggest red flag out of last night’s game for us it’s that the lack of depth in the back line is now pretty obvious should Trusty be unavailable.

He’s a solid option at LB when we need to play more defensively or when “Jedi” needs a rest. I’d, also, err, trust Trusty more than Miles Robinson and Mark McKenzie to be the 3rd choice CB after last night’s showing from them.

Other than that (and maybe Weah being pretty ineffective) we did ok.

I would have loved to see Haji Wright get a chance, because I have zero faith in Pepi if Balogun is unable to go for any reason.

I feel pretty okay with Scally at either FB spot if it comes to that. It's CB where not having Trusty really scares me.
