I think it’s now quite clear why Australia acted like such a bunch of babies for months because of what Mike Grella (of all people!) said after the group stage draw.

Gabby Logan saying Pochettino dresses like he's in a cartel when he jus looks like he's gone in on the menswear at M&S (what a menswear selection that is by the way)

Rooney asking for Pochs number to get style tips. Wtf.

Great result for the Socceroos… they go on and win this group comfortably now. Giving them a third place team in the next round. I think the way they play they’ll cause some headaches for one of the big boys later in the tournament.

2 really poor teams, and a low quality game overall, a couple of lucky goals the difference.

It’s early over there, go back to sleep

Comfortable for the USA.

Two good wins but maybe will come unstuck against a top team ?

Can't write them off. Solid team, should make it to last 16 maybe even quarters given the right matchups. We shall see

I thought USA were decent. I disagree with a lacking in quality I thought they probably could have won the game more comfortably than they did.

They’re a very dangerous team, bags of pace and have goals in them. I fancy them to go far.

I like us getting to the round of 16 and we are in a decent spot to get a good matchup in the next round. And it might be a good thing to give Pulisic some extra rest.

The fan in me wants to go crazy but the fake analyst in me is worried that we don’t have the back line to really make a run. Clean sheet today and that’s great, but we played against a team that was pretty much sat back in 5-4-1 for huge portions of the game.

This is our first clean sheet in forever. We aren’t that deep at CB. I really like Richards but he can switch off sometimes. We probably should be doing better than starting Tim Ream in 2026–even though he’s very well respected on the team and is a smart player, he is not very quick. After Richards and Ream, you have question marks abound (though I can see Poch rotating both out of the squad vs Türkiye).

Dest and Robinson are a superb attacking fullback pair and fit nicely in Pochettino’s on the ball system but we can get caught on the counter if they’re not in sync with who makes deep runs down the wing.

Also Balogun is our best striker but he’s not 90s Ronaldo. He had a chance clean through on goal from midfield and couldn’t create himself a clear shot on target. Those chances have to be buried.

I don’t want to take away from our success and believe me, I’m very very very happy right now; but just pointing out our weak spots.

Let's see what the yanks do when they come up against a proper team

The way things could fall that may not happen til at least the quarters. Gotta keep the population invested in it, would not want to be in their group or against them in the first couple knock-out rounds.

Its bound to be in their favour else Trump and infectile will make up a new rule if they get someone goid too early

hahahaha the americans clearly don't understand offside as they clapped for a good 15 seconds after the flag went up

That aged well.

Seattle is a soccer-crazy town. More enthusiasm and understand the game better than half the PL stadium crowds at the very least.
