I was wondering if anyone knows roughly what all the players earn per week/month/year.

Notice the paragraphs. Bristric for example. What would he be offered. 5k per week. That's £250k per year. What about Braybrooke Page and Alves. Chaplin Cullen a step higher at £10k per week. £500k per year. Not many of us earn that kind of money. Seems a lot but are those figures the going rate. I dread to think about the others.

To put it simply, we are still overpaying wages to bring in players to appease a manager we also can't really afford. It's the exact same approach we had with Enzo. Don't be at all surprised if in a year Martin is moaning there's no signings.

Maybe if we get promoted to the Championship and he was one of our stand out players, but even then £20k would be on the higher side for the league?

I doubt he would get offered that by a team in the Championship at the moment

We can revisit this come December

one of us will be right!

Fair shout.

The reality is, we’re a league one club with no future parachute payments, no sellable assets and an owner unwilling/unable to invest.

We should cut out cloth accordingly and paying Braybrooke more than what someone like Hayden Hackney was on at Boro (allegedly on £7/10k per week) is madness.

Hackney signed that deal in 2023 when he was 21 so it’s a good comparison

but whilst we still have players on 30/40k per week who aren’t pushing to play every week then convincing a flying Braybrooke in December that he should commit to the next five years for 10k/week isn’t going to work.  if he’s not flying in L1 then we probably shouldn’t be thinking too hard about keeping him.

Great shout.

It’s another reason why I won’t ever get behind the sentiment, “they’ll be alright in League One” when talking about our overpaid dossers.

I’m surprised there haven’t been more Jannik type agreements with some, can anyone genuinely see someone approaching us for Thomas, Reid etc.

How much do you think he's earning currently?

I’ve no idea but you said he’d sign for 20% of £5k, so £1k. There’s no chance he does that.

You say no chance.

If he's earning much less in Eastern Europe. No other takers. Chance to increase his wage and put himself in the shop window.

No chance? Really?

Certainly don't think we're giving him £260k a year with that background

No one will really know

Websites like Capology are rubbish and even the annual wage figures aren't just based on the players basic weekly pay

The only thing we really know about wages at the moment is that probably quite surprisingly we aren't failing the SCMP financial rules for the league which means we are spending less than 65% of our turnover on wages

When do we put the figures in for SCMP?

I would asume after the window is closed. Then again after the January window closes.

I personally think we will be lucky to pass it.

Also not sure how they work this out.

So sponsorship player sales and season tickets. Are unsold tickets and corperate a percentage and then they work out if you failed in january?

None of these financial rules make sense really. Seems to me so much of it is guess work and open to false accounting/Chelsea style scams.

You underestimate the resolve of Eastern Europeans in negotiations my friend

I don’t think he’ll be on mega bucks for League One, but they won’t take just a shop window opportunity

There is a submission at the start of the summer and then that gets updated as and when there are changes with players in and out etc.
