Deathside Posted 7 January 2006 Posted 7 January 2006 Never mind your world cup - Get a load of the DFB-Pokal (German equivilent to the FA Cup) First the background for those who don't know - FC St Pauli play in Regionalliga Nord - This is classed in Germany as the 3rd Division - But is actually one of two 3rd divisions: Bundesliga I Bundesliga II Regionalliga Sud / Regionaliga Nord Regionalliga clubs have to pre-qualify for entry into the DFB Cup (For St Pauli this means through the ODDSET Cup) Anyways - Here's St Pauli's progress so far Round 1 FC St Pauli 3 - 2 Wacker Burghausen (Bundesliga II) - After Extra Time Round 2 FC St Pauli 4 - 0 VfL Bochum (Bundesliga II) Round 3 FC St Pauli 4 - 3 Hertha BSC Berlin (Bundesliga I) - After Extra Time (Hertha led 2-0 & 3-2) Quarterfinal - Wednesday 25 January FC St Pauli V Werder Bremen (Bundesliga I) And the good news - The game is live on German satellite channel ARD

Deathside Posted 25 January 2006 Author Posted 25 January 2006 AC/DC - Hells Bells is playing and the players are now entering the pitch I can't believe they are going to play the game - The pitch is covered in snow and it's snowing quite heavily! COME ON ST PAULI

Alexikokopops Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 TOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! St Pauli 1 - 0 Werder Bremen (10 mins) Yus!!
Deathside Posted 25 January 2006 Author Posted 25 January 2006 Half Time 1 - 1 (but only just) St Pauli started really well and took the lead on 10 mins and had disallowed goal on 23 mins Bremen took about 20 minutes to get to grips with the conditions and the occasion They are certainly looking the better side now (Although not two leagues better) - They equalised on 27 mins Bremen hit the bar on 44 mins 50 seconds and forced a great save from Holleraith (St Pauli keeper) 30 seconds into stoppage time It's stopped snowing - Second half just kicked off
Deathside Posted 25 January 2006 Author Posted 25 January 2006 YYYYYEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!! 58 mins - After being totally under the cosh since the start of the half St Pauli's first attack leads to a corner Fabian Boll bangs in a bicycle kick St Pauli 2 - 1 Werder Bremen
Deathside Posted 25 January 2006 Author Posted 25 January 2006 Goal was scored by Thomas Schultz (65 mins)
Deathside Posted 25 January 2006 Author Posted 25 January 2006 FINAL SCORE St Pauli 3 - 1 Werder Bremen A 2nd half of two halves (of unequal size) For almost 15 mins Bremen dominated and it only looked to be a matter of time before they would score St Pauli's first attack - corner - goal Suddenly Bremen lost the plot and looked like the team from the amateur leagues St Pauli score again A rare Bremen attack leads to a penalty - Saved by Holleraith Bremen didn't threaten again - St Pauli could have scored 2 or 3 more Don't know when the semi final draw is - but the teams in the semis are St Pauli Brian Munich Eintracht Frankfurt Arminia Bielefeld A St Pauli V Munich final beckons
Jordan Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 What a result for St. Pauli! A fantastic achievement, it's been tough for them over the last few years, but hats off to what it probably the coolest team in the world.
