Zidane is magic, Beckham is overrated, Gerrard is better than becks I think, takes players on has better passing, can hit free kicks too.

Beckham had been reals best player up until that point but he did struglle with the rest of the players in the closing stages of the season. he continued this bad form in to Euro 2004 (where he was also carrying a foot injury). He was brilliant for the majority of last season and has been at the start of this season, Real madrid top league goal scorer at the moment. Of course the British press wouldn't let the truth get in the way of a good story anmd instead chose to call him a failure and a flop. Try telling the Real Madrid fans that booed everyone one of the players after training the day after Camacho got sacked apart from beckham who they applauded that he has been a 'flop.' I'd be interest to see who you think reals best player has been in this period/ Whoever said Buffon is overated because h punches everything and then stated Victor Valdes as a worthy substitute must be having a laugh. valdes punches everything, even if it si straight at him. Buffon is the most Athletic and commanding keeper int he world, if he were not a keeper everyone would be calling him the worlds best player.

I watched quite a few of Real's matches during the second period of the season - He was poor, didn't reach the heights of his performances in the early parts of the season. Players like Helguera and Ronaldo were above Beckham in terms of performances IMO. Zidane wasn't in the best form either, but he was still a level above Beckham throughout the season. Real were not convincing from Christmas onwards - They were winning games, but not performing well generally. Then a lack of strength in depth in the squad contributed to the collapse towards the end of the season. To claim Beckham has been Real's best player since he's been there is laughable.

Ronaldo contrubted nothign when he was not scoring goals, which dried up towards then end of the season. Ivan Helguera is an extremely average player and a large part of the reason Real struggle defencively, IMO. I too wtch Spnaish football every weekend, which pretty much means I watch Real Madrid every weekend. It is not laughable to say Beckham has been there best player, debatable yes, but very easy to state a realistic claim that he has been. My use of the term 'innacurate' is actually more of a reference to the way peopel talk about Madrid last season. As if they were great in the first hal;f and then crpa in the second half, as I explained they only got really bad right at the end of the season and seperating it into halves is undoubtedly 'inaccurate.'
