Ash Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 FIFA World Player list In the middle of November, FIFA will announce the three players who have been chosen by a panel of international experts to go forward to the final decision. This will be announced during the ceremonies to mark the end of celebrations for FIFA's centenary year, to be held in Zurich. Adriano (Inter de Milán) Roberto Ayala (Valencia) Michael Ballack (Bayern Múnich) Milan Baros (Liverpool) David Beckham (Real Madrid) Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) Cafú (Milan) Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) Deco (FC Barcelona) Didier Drogba (Chelsea) Samuel Eto'o (FC Barcelona) Luis Figo (Real Madrid) Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) Ryan Giggs (Manchester United) Thierry Henry (Arsenal) Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Juventus) Oliver Kahn (Bayer Múnich) Kaká (Milan) Frank Lampard (Chelsea) Henrik Larsson (FC Barcelona) Roy Makaay (Bayer Múnich) Paolo Maldini (Milan) Pavel Nedved (Juventus) Alessandro Nesta (Milan) Michael Owen (Real Madrid) Robert Pires (Arsenal) Raúl (Real Madrid) Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid) Ronaldinho (FC Barcelona) Ronaldo (Real Madrid) Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) Andrei Shevchenko (Milan) Ruud van Nistelrooy (Manchester United) Theodoros Zagorakis (Bolonia) Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid) Who do you think deserves it ? Adriano i think
Mark Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 Theo Zagorakis up for best player in the world??? :o Thierry Henry for me.
Ash Posted 6 October 2004 Author Posted 6 October 2004 Theo had a great Euro thats why ? I guess he does deserve to be in with a shout
Benji Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 henry however zidane usually gets it for just showing up
BartonFox Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 How the hell people like Owen and Beckham are included in that list is beyond me. This award should be for the best player in the year 2004, not for reputations or because Adidas, Nike or Umbro need their 'brands' promoted. Where is Dellus the Greek centre half who was just a influential if not more so than Zagorakis? Rooney did nothing at Everton, had a decent Euro 2004 and played 2 games this season. Hardly warrants consideration for this prize. Not saying he isn't a good player just he hasn't done enough to justify his inclusion. Then there are the likes of Raul, Khan, Ballack, Ronaldo, Zidane, Maakay, C. Ronaldo and Figo who all had a crap seasons with their Clubs and didn't do all that well in Portugal. It's a farce... The winner should come rom one of Deco (Euro Cup winner) or Ayala (Olympic winner) or Henry (unbeatable domestically). Well thats my opinion and rant over for the day
Guest Daniel Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 I cant believe fat booy Rooney is being mentioned. Joke.
Oli Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 Deco is quality, I watched alot of porto matches last year and he is just amazing. But Henry will win it.
Cat Burger Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 I think Shevchenko is the best player in the world ( I'm a Milan Fan ) but he'll never win it because he's Ukrainian, their team are rubbish.
TrickyTrev Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 Ronaldinho would be the rightful winner but anythign decided by a panel that can nominated Raul for world player of the year when he hadn't scored since january will not pick a rightful winner. Stupid degraded award.
Benji Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 i like ronaldinho for his praising of our club/fans after making him welcome (well boo-s turned to standing ovations) in the barca friendly
TrickyTrev Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 I like him because he is the best player in the world.
Wellman Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 Henry will take i think. I would like to see Deco win it though
Guest Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 No Scarecrow? I bet that's why MA's hasn't resigned yet, he's off to FIFA headquarters to have it out with them.
Scow Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 No Scarecrow?I bet that's why MA's hasn't resigned yet, he's off to FIFA headquarters to have it out with them. 24759 Silly FIFA. :w00t:
kirkup21 Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 Both Kaka and Nedved are quality players but I would have to say Ronaldinho.
Anish Posted 6 October 2004 Posted 6 October 2004 No Scarecrow?I bet that's why MA's hasn't resigned yet, he's off to FIFA headquarters to have it out with them. 24759 You stole my thunder...I was gonna say that! Pfft. First you beat my score at Palantir and now this! Seriously though, Henry has to win it. Beckham and Owen have been rubbish for the last 12 months, they shouldn't even be nominated.
Ric Flair Posted 7 October 2004 Posted 7 October 2004 Henry, nuff said. Although Ronaldinho, Kaka and Rooney are all superb aswell.
Mad Dog Posted 7 October 2004 Posted 7 October 2004 Ronaldinho is the only sensible option. Owen? Jesus ****ing christ, what an absolute joke.
Macca4lcfc Posted 8 October 2004 Posted 8 October 2004 Id liek to see gerrard win it, but i think nedved will.
Scow Posted 8 October 2004 Posted 8 October 2004 Apparently Totti has had a hissy fit because he's not even made the list..... ::
Ash Posted 8 October 2004 Author Posted 8 October 2004 Doesnt deserve to be , After he spat at a player in the Euro 2004 , Disgrace
