Alexikokopops Posted 12 October 2004 Posted 12 October 2004 I don't think Blue Mistress and Babylon were watching it to get some kind of weird sexual kick out of it or for a giggle, yunno? And I don't think either of them believe it's "only a video", and do actually realise that a guy's getting beheaded. "A very sad moment for everyone concerned." Blue Mistress "I never want to see anything like that again, not much turns my stomoach but i wanted to vomit." Babylon Doesn't seem like either of them's having a laugh about it. Personally, I probably wouldn't watch it given the chance, but if some people do, let them. Lets just stop with the handbags.
andy_croydz Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 sorry BM yeah alex i think the same really, i do sometimes get like them curiuos that when somethings there ill look at it and ive seen it once but dont ever wanna see it again.
Guest Daniel Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 Spot on Alex. I admit i dont fumble across the videos like some of you claim, but also i do not have sexual pleasure or any plesure in viewing them, just like to see things that have happened, its who i am.
Craig Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 I mean, lets all be honest, everyone on here watched what happened on September 11th... Thats exactly the same really.

Thats exactly the same really. 26355 No I don't think it is - the media made us watch the September 11th, we did not have a choice. It was everywhere you looked - this certainly isn't.

kerryh Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 I couldn't watch it - but understand that people have a morbid fascination in things, my grandmother lived through the holocaust and I am fascinated by that period of history, doesn't mean I like what happened, it sickens me, I just find it really interesting.

Unless you wanted to live a sheltered life and not watch TV there was little you could have done to avoid the coverage. There is no comparison between watching the twin towers and watching somebody being beheaded in my opinion.

If you didn't want to watch it, you simply didn't have to watch the news (Apart from the day it happened, but even then you didn't have to sit down and watch it). I'm willing to bet you watched it out of interest.

Im not sayin its wrong to see the video, but what im saying is that for those who have and feel sick and regret seeing it.. that was ur choice and i along with everyone else on this planet has no right to tell u what u should see.
Cat Burger Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 I agree that you cannot compare Sept 11th and a beheading, Twin towers did not make me feel violently sick, Unfortunately I was made to watch a beheading when an American was the victim, someone pasted me a link and didn't tell me what it was. By the time I could react it had finished and it made me feel bad for a day or so. Now I'd view that reaction as normal behavior, 'I' think to watch it is disrespectful. Also why are people using a 'I have the right as a human being' scapegoat. Rat faced Paedo DOES NOT have the right to look at indecent images of children just because he's human!
Guest Daniel Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 Theres a difference between looking at naked children doing dirty acts of nature with other children and a beheading. Looking at a beheading is not illegal. Kiddy porn is.
Babylon Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 ok blue mistress, babylonlet me take your dad away dont know them personally but who cares ?? and i'll cut off his head slowly and video it on my camcorder and if i feel like it.. ..i'll post it on the web somewhere for a laugh and send the link to a couple of mates who might get a kick out of it and they'll pass it on to their mates and so on.. after all its only a video no big deal thats life 26333 I suggest you read my origional post again, read peoples posts before you slag them off.
Nathan_Ellington_WAFC Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 I have been unforunate enough to see it. All i will say is thankfully it was swift compared to some others i was shown. I never want to see anything like that again, not much turns my stomoach but i wanted to vomit. 25968 i dont get it did someone tie you up in a chair and make you watch it or something? ''unfortunate to see it'' whats all that about? it was your choice, you watched it, and for that people will see what a sick person you are good comments made by some people on here funny how you and blue mistress are avoiding them, have you gone red in the face? true blue, i see you and blue mistress are brothers... have you told your parents that you go on the internet to see innocent people have their lives taken away from them? in this case, in horrible circumstances. if you did, what do you think they'd think of you? and dont come out with ''they wont care'' or ''whats this got to do with my parents, i do what i want to do'' just a thought, you dont have to answer

Do you think it is disrespectful, that when i visited a museum in Vietnam about the war i saw pictures of innocnet war victims? There is nothing anymore disrespectul looking at ken bigley than there is any of the millions of nameless victim from past wars. Just because i know his name doesn't make me feal any different. Why is 'i have a right as a human being' a scapegoat? Being shown the video did not affect you, ken bigley, his family or anyone else but myself. I won't have knightmares about it, infact i don't give it a passing thought until i read this forum. I'm sad that he died and feel sorry for his family, but he knew the risks and went out there to line his own pockets, what happended is his own stupid fault for putting money first. To compare it to child porn is idiotic, no law has been broken!! Me looking at the pictures will not mean others get beheaded, while pedophiles looking at child porn will only lead to child abuse of others to feed their fantsasies. Maybe not by that person but by people who produce pictures for peoples demands. I respect peoples views of not wanting to look at the images, as people should respect anyone who wants to..

B) I was unfortunate to see it because it made me feel sick to the stomach. You were not in the room at the time, do not know the conversations that took place between the person who showed it and the person who saw it, so who are you to pass judgement on me being a sick person. I personally think you are a sick person for making fun of and laughing at victims of bullying. c) I don't see you slagging of Cat burger, he could of turned away!! Your brain can make a decision in a split second so his excuse of the video being finished before ihe knew what was happening is laughable. B) Having seen the video i would certainly not watch anything like that again, does that still make me sick? What i will do is stick up for the rights of people who want to watch it though.
Guest Daniel Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 Thank you, i want to watch the video, i did watch the video having seen stuff like this before, its reality, its happening out there, watching the video will not make things worse.
Hullfox Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 I can sort of understand why TB and BM post comments like they just have sometimes. Whatever the subject, people will always have opposing views, that's nature. Sometimes we all have to learn to live things we don't like. Personally, i don't think that watching the video is disrespectful as such. It's out in the public domain and people have a free choice on whether they see it or not. Maybe public broadcast of more issues would actually help in sorting out some very deep routed problems that exist in the world and not allow people to hide behind their ignorance of things that happen. Maybe Bob Geldof shouldn't have broadcast pictures of those children dying in Africa in 1983. If he hadn't, many millions more may have died since. The more people who see the horrors of this life for themselves in relative amounts, the better as far as I am concerned as it should galvanize like minded people to fight against evil of all sorts. More understanding, less ignorance please.

Strange but true... two peas from the same pod hully.

I personally think you are a sick person for making fun of and laughing at victims of bullying If someone is doing a project for good reason it's different, if someone is just plainly interested in it then I consider it to be immoral. Bablyon, were you there when I was watching the video? the video lasted about 3-5 seconds, I wasn't aware or prepared for it, I'm 18 not seen many execution scenario's in my time, although I suppose you have seen plenty being such an expert. As for the excuse, I don't appreciate being indirectly accused of lying like that. Why is saying Nathan_Ellington_wafc wasn't with YOU when you watched it, any different to what you are saying to me??. Personally I think you are a Hypocrite, you are also unable to listen to Nathan_Ellington_wafc's opinions which makes you ignorant. I will never win an argument with you so I don't care what you throw back, as far as I'm concerned any opinion of yours which I may come across from now has lost it's value, wild accusations of me being a liar are 'laughable'.
Benji Posted 13 October 2004 Posted 13 October 2004 i've not replied once yet but have just read the last 3 pages and i've got to say, i'm not going to bother wasting an opinion on here! it seems whenever an argument is not going someones way or they have nothing else to say the only resort is personal or general abuse. anyone who knows me knows i'm argumentative but i will always give reasoning for what i say and respect other peoples views as a quality of what i might need for the intended career path of mine. Off memory there were some well justified opinions such as babylon i think who each time didn't just fill a post with abuse and demand for his opinion to be taken as the 'right' one but gave reasoning and well thought out arguments (well on one of them at least which i read). End of the day everyone comes on here on their own free will and each have their own contrasting opinions which make a messageboard what it is but to resort to non-topical arguments is just petty. and for the record, i've not seen any of the videos although i dont mind admitting i am 'interested' but just don't do it morally. But i do respect people some will watch it and for whatever reason is up to them!
