Teeno Posted 7 February 2006 Share Posted 7 February 2006 Great news. The current bach of youngester are beeter than what we've had at the club for a while so it's encouraging that we're making an effort to keep them as long as possible
Thracian Posted 7 February 2006 Share Posted 7 February 2006 Does this mean we might actually play him now, or not!! He said on Saturday that he was injured. I didn't get the impression it was serious but he took a Knock against Arsenal Reserves and was withdrawn from the Portsmouth Reserves match. Cobbo Posted 7 February 2006 Share Posted 7 February 2006 Sheehan Pens New DealLeicester City defender Alan Sheehan today signed a new two-year deal with the club that will keep him at the Walkers Stadium until the end of the 2007-2008 season. Sheehan, who has represented the Republic of Ireland at U17, U19 and U21 level, has made three starts for the Foxes this season after initially breaking into the first team squad at the end of the 2004-05 campaign. The 19-year-old joined Leicester in 2003 from Belvedere FC and was named Academy Player of the Season last term. Caretaker manager Rob Kelly said: "Alan has managed to break through to the first team squad this season and he is certainly very much part of the club's plans for the future. "He is a talented young defender and he will now be able to continue his progress with the club over the next two years." lcfc.com Good stuff, he's looked to have a lot of potential when I've seen him, by no means the finished article yet but could be a very good player for us

Mad Dog Posted 7 February 2006 Share Posted 7 February 2006 still id rather these young lads in the championship than the likes of hignett, howey, ferdinand and freund in the premiership Well that's ridiculous. Ferdinand & Freund are players I'll remember for some time, a pleasure to have had them play for us. Other players from that season (Bent, Thatcher, Dickov, Izzet, Walker) are all better in their relative positions than we'll probably have for many years to come.
