Like TPH said, it was an absolutely appalling price mind given it's recent form.

Had a tickle EW on Artful Lady at 9/1, had a win race before last and althought top weight this is a really poor race.

Loads of money and then withdrawn.

Looks like the story got out a bit early and either a) the horse wasn't quite right or b) connections didn't get enough money on in time.

Shame, I was going to lay both on betfair (possibly the connections' intention after letting out the 'get on' message).

90% what happened is someone supposedly itk, sent out a text saying 'here is your christmas bonus lads, get on' and it was passed on and passed on and a load of non-gamblers stuck £100 on each, price tumbled.

I wouldn't be that shocked is there is a sub-text here. I've half a mind to have a quid e/w on the horse which has almost trebled in price. I've seen things like this before.

I've had a proper look and it looks to me like Twiston's Davies runner Fairy Mist has had decent backing, shortened in price to 16's.

Good trainer, in form yard, decent jockey, should go on the surface, anything to put us off?

Brown Pete is very interesting, someone else has pointed out to me the trainer had 4 down for this race and this is the only one left still running.

This could be genuine. It WILL be trying is my advice. It probably still looks a bit short in terms of form and perceived ability, but the fact its trying counts.

I'm still not tempted at the odds, but anyone who fancies a flutter could do worse.

Absolutely, seen it all before, Class 5/6 all weather races I more than usual take a gamble with a pinch of salt.

Christ its a low class race. Avon Supreme is the only I'd touch as a win bet.

FWIW, its another dodgy race as 4 horses withdrawn (which is unusual on a/w since the going won't be SO much of a factor) and of those, some of them will have been the more fancied runners.

To see so much money for Brown Pete really is something.

Got over 9/1 earlier on betfair.

Still looks good to me.

And Simo - don't worry too much, it does look like its there to have a go. Half of this lot in a class 7 will just be there to either a) see how they get on on the course/distance b) for a run.

If it drifts I might get involved myself.
