davieG Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Henderson Stearman, Paddy K, Nissa, Tiatto Maybury, Hughes, Joey, Welsh Hume, Fryatt. Assuming Stearman's fit and Rab's not.. I think he'll push Nissa into the back four with Tiatto at leftback that leaves him free to put Welsh on the left of midfield. Minimal changes, improves the height in the back four, Tiatto has been building up to play 90 minutes (if he's not sent off) and Welsh sounds a bit more direct than Smith. I'd be surprised if Brevitt plays other than as a late sub as I can't imagine he's anywhere near fit enough to play a full 90 minutes at leftback. A score draw sounds a good bet as we WILL concede a goal (1 clean sheet in 20?), it's just whether we can score as we are still not anywhere near prolific.
Ric Flair Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 I think it would be unfair to drop Gerrbrand, the lad deserves a chance. It's obvious McCarthy will walk back in to the team so Gerrbrand should be given that extra game because McCarthy is only one booking away from a further 2 match ban and another centre half will be called upon soon. Nissa is a good centre half but he hasn't impressed me that much there when given the chance. Gerrbrand was excellent around November/December time at centre half and was unlucky to get injured and lose his place. He had abit of a shocker in the cup game and hadn't played again until last saturday. From what I gather he was pretty solid so he deserves to keep his place. Tiatto should be dropped to the bench, isn't he injured anyway? I've got a feeling that Stearman won't play. My guess/personal selection would be: Henderson Maybury Gerrbrand Kisnorbo Nissa Hughes Williams Gudjonsson Tiatto/Welsh Fryatt Hume

surrifox Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Will Gudjonsson take our penalties (not that we ever get one) from now on or Matty Fryatt? I notice that Gudjonsson looks q. good value as first City goal scorer on some of the fixed odds betting sites
Ric Flair Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Will Gudjonsson take our penalties (not that we ever get one) from now on or Matty Fryatt? I notice that Gudjonsson looks q. good value as first City goal scorer on some of the fixed odds betting sites Good question. Gudjonsson hasn't ever missed one for us so it would be unfair to take the duty off him. However, he is leaving in the summer and any opportunity that we get a penalty should be given to the player who will take over from Gudjonsson, which will be Fryatt. Plus Fryatt needs a goal to get back in the groove and if we get a penalty tomorrow then i'd let Fryatt take it.
lookwhaticando Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Henderson Stearman (I think he'll probably still play, despite this knock he's said to be carrying) Gerrbrand Kisnorbo Nissa Maybury (can move to RB if Stearman doesn't figure, in which case Hughes to RM and Williams CM) Hughes Gudjonsson Welsh (assuming he's fit, could be replaced by Smith/Tiatto later in the game if he isn't 100%) Fryatt Hume - you just can't change this strike pair, unless you're insane or Levein.
lookwhaticando Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Here's another question - Who should be captain? In my lineup above, I think I'd go with Kisnorbo or possibly Maybury.

Phube Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 When were you proposing to let Hamill loose? Bugger, I was trying to think of a really bad left winger and Hamill's name didn't come to mind! (Maybe because I was thinking of FOOTBALLERS). So lets sub Hughes for Hamill then!!

Scow Posted 3 March 2006 Posted 3 March 2006 Henderson Stearman, Paddy K, Nissa, Tiatto Maybury, Hughes, Joey, Welsh Hume, Fryatt. I'd agree with that. The problem we had at Ipswich last week was that we had both Maybury and Tiatto drifting in field, leaving the full backs horribly exposed. We need at least one wide player to give us that width, and hopefully Welsh will provide that. For all Smith's early promise and flashes of ability, he always seemed to lack that killer ball.
Phube Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 'Fraid it's all gone injuryed up again, on the OS Tiatto had gone for knee surgery last night therefore will not play for another two of three weeks!! More revised teams sheets (up until 2 o'clock) methinks...
