werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 27 March 2006 Posted 27 March 2006 I CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE HERE ARE VOTING THE NEW VERSION nooooooooooooooooo.......!!!! Its a disgrace. I cringe every time I hear it. The old tune MUST be re-instated. Why oh why should the PHG be remixed??? Would liverpool fc EVER remix you'll never walk alone????? No. why??? because its tradition and the liverpool football club respect their own tradition and history.
phillcfc Posted 27 March 2006 Posted 27 March 2006 Henry for me...Has a bit of tradition to it.We lack character at games IMO. The ground couldnt be duller if we'd tried. Having a bit of tradition like henry, alrite he was a bit irritating, but no other club has something like that. The PHG is part of our identity and i think henry helped make it a focal point at the beginning of the game. Not heard the new version, but the old version was alrite but not really all that interesting. Don't know if any of you agree with the reasons for wanting to keep henry. We need as much to try and establish a bit of unique-ness to a game at leicester.
SussexFox Posted 27 March 2006 Posted 27 March 2006 completely agree with the above two posts, we need some tradition at Leicester especially since we've left Filbert Street. Most clubs have their own song, you'l never walk alone, forever blowing bubbles, even Brighton at their sh1te stadium still play Sussex by the Sea. So for me Original everytime especially if played by Henry

So for me Original everytime especially if played by Henry Yeah, I agree about having the original PHG that was always played at filbert st. but not Henry please, I'm sure he's a nice chap, but he doesn't play it, he only plays the first 3 notes. This is a stirring piece of music and needs to be heard in full.
Cat Burger Posted 28 March 2006 Posted 28 March 2006 First time me and Onion who posts on here heard the new PHG, we looked at each other and laughed for about a minute at it's shitness.
Unit Posted 28 March 2006 Posted 28 March 2006 First time me and Onion who posts on here heard the new PHG, we looked at each other and laughed for about a minute at it's shitness. Completely off topic, did you see the fella off the cribs on nevermind the buzzcocks last night? I was pissing myself, he's so funnny. Good band too.
Cat Burger Posted 28 March 2006 Posted 28 March 2006 Yeah I heard about it, Nah I'm bloody gutted. I dreamt about it last night, what it would be like. When I saw them support the ordinary boys they just made the night for me, pure entertainment. Crackers he is. If anyone knows if it gets repeated PLEASE let me know!

Newcastle_Fox Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 Did anyone ever hear the Post Horn Gallop Techno Remix that was on the B side of the cassette You Me And Mark McGhee. Was a cracking uplifting version of the post horn gallop, still got the cassette may have to make a recording of it to mp3.
Monk Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 Did anyone ever hear the Post Horn Gallop Techno Remix that was on the B side of the cassette You Me And Mark McGhee. Was a cracking uplifting version of the post horn gallop, still got the cassette may have to make a recording of it to mp3. Please do it sounds side splitting. Random side note - do you reckon we could get our lot to SING the post horn gallop before away matches?? Or is that just an awful awful idea. De De Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee De de deeeeee d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-de-da-de-da-de-da-da
Cobbo Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 Original. The new version is revolting. That's about spot on.
ooh Tommy Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 It has to be the original !!! Away fans must just look at each other when the hear the new and think what the f**k !!!! It's a disgrace.
Wolfgang Posted 1 April 2006 Posted 1 April 2006 Has to be the original. Heard the new version for the first time last week. It might be better if it went with the original before leading into the up-tempo bit.
craigadams22 Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 Has anyone got the New Version and also the old version from The Post Horn Gallop? I am still after them both, because I want them to play on Castle Mead Radio. When I read out the local Football Results and the team's which are playing etc. E-Mail me at: [email protected] Add me to Msn AKA Windows Live Messenger: [email protected] Many Thanks Craig Adams 22
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 Original, no question. It is just wrong to clap in time to the new one, but you can't help it when the whole stadium does it. I have given up clapping the teams out as a result. Slightly off-topic, where does the Radio Leicester goal horn come from? I woudn't mind that after each goal (instead of the burst of PHG we get at the moment). Brings back pre-Internet memories of sitting in my room listening to games on a crackly radio...

foxesfan1 Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 i like it when they come out but not after any goal i think we should adopt a theme tune for when we score they did do it once with kasabians -clubfoot- that was good but they always play that seconds before kick off too . a version of kaiser cheifs "ruby" might be good if some one scored like "humey humey humey humey!!!" (laugh out loud)
philce Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 I want this as a message alert on my phone. Does anyone know where to get it as a MP3? Thanks Phil Original, no question. josh_baskin Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Recently in a documentary with a massive local band about them playing a small, one off gig in leicster they complained that the club virtualy never play there tunes, i believe that after that they said they would be happy to record somthing specialy for club as there all big city fans. Can you imagion The Post Horne Gallop recorded by that band, even if they didnt i would still prefer the club to play there tunes, the energy they create is unbelievable.
