Katy Posted 5 May 2006 Posted 5 May 2006 Im fond of Brian Little. I think he's more of a manager than an assistant/coach thing now, hes still got a job to do in the lower leagues I think.

Newcastle_Fox Posted 5 May 2006 Posted 5 May 2006 was a good manager in the early 90s, I would say sign him up if we didnt have rob kelly! Good manager!
Deathside Posted 5 May 2006 Posted 5 May 2006 was a good manager in the early 90s, I would say sign him up if we didnt have rob kelly! Good manager! I'm surprised that nice guy Brian hasn't done better since his spell at villa
Newcastle_Fox Posted 6 May 2006 Posted 6 May 2006 was a good manager in the early 90s, I would say sign him up if we didnt have rob kelly! Good manager! Grr drunken posting last night Little is JUDAS!
ooh Tommy Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 Despite the style of Little's departure, he brought us a few great seasons at filbert street. Still got a soft spot for him
Katy Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 Grr drunken posting last night Little is JUDAS! Not as judas-like as McGhee, at least BL had an affinity to the club he left us for.
bald reynard Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 Grr drunken posting last night Little is JUDAS! How could anyone hate 'dear old Brian' ?! Yes I know he was a little bit 'naughty' when leaving us all those year's ago, but time's a great healer and every time I've heard him talk about City on Sky, he's been very complemetary and - yes - NICE ! 'Nice old Brian' - sign him up for Graydon's job if he's interested (which he won't be - yet !) and try to 'bury the past' !

I love Brian He changed the face of Leicester City when he came after years of Pleat crap, he took Leicester City from shite to alright in a season. I was distraught when he left but was even more distraught when all the judas banners came out when we played Villa, he took us as far as he could at the time and went to a club that he had a great fondness for. Plus he used to live round the corner from my sister in Barrow and drove a Land Rover!

Katy Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 His book was called "Starting A Wave", but it should have been called that!!! Yeaaah my dad had that book! We have other people to abuse now who have done far worse things than Bri
surrifox Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 he was the original judas though when all's said and done. The City job gave him the status to go after the villa job even though they are a wanky club with a wankier chairman. I can't look back on him with much affection

The Leicester job gave him the status to go after the Celtic job and no one says a bad word about him even though it's basically the same situation (taking both their acheivements at Leicester out of the equation)

He left Taylor with 2 years prem money plus the proceeds of the Heskey sale in the bank plus a side more than capable of staying in the prem
Katy Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 well he turned down Leeds (a massive club at the time) to stay with City and his achievements on the playing side dwarfed those of Little. He left Taylor with 2 years prem money plus the proceeds of the Heskey sale in the bank plus a side more than capable of staying in the prem He kept us hanging re Leeds though if you remember. As I mentioned previously aside from what they did at Leicester the situation is still the same. Manwell, you do have a slight point but Villa? Rivals? I think it was more to do with us never having a manger leaving before in such circumstances, and so hit us hard. You are both within your rights to slate BL but I will always have a soft spot for him, we arent going to change each others minds.
Nationwider Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 You could argue Villa are a local rival, where as Celtic are of course not. Although the average Villa fan would say, "Leicester Who?".
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 I'll be quite honest and say I couldn't give to hoots about Little or Little leaving. It did hurt at them time ( Being 10 it was quite gutting ) but I don't wish ill on him now. I said you could argue, not that I would personally argue that, I dunno if you would really class Villa as our rivals, I do know quite a few Villa fans, probabley more Villa then Cov fans actually. There was always a little bit of tension back when it was just us them and Derby in the Prem.
Nationwider Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 I will not slate the guy. The transformation from 90-91 to the Blackburn play-off final was amazing. I'd buy him a pint if here were here now. And I was in a pub. And I had any money.
Magic No. 8 Posted 13 May 2006 Posted 13 May 2006 Yeah, there is nowt wrong with Brian! Did I just say Nowt?!?!
Katy Posted 13 May 2006 Posted 13 May 2006 Yeah, there is nowt wrong with Brian! Did I just say Nowt?!?! You did It's a cracking word
Magic No. 8 Posted 13 May 2006 Posted 13 May 2006 You did It's a cracking word Thanks! As a word there certainly is nowt wrong with it
Deathside Posted 13 May 2006 Posted 13 May 2006 Leicester's most sucessful period ended with the departure of MON But started with the arrival of Brian Little
