davieG Posted 22 May 2006 Share Posted 22 May 2006 Crystal Palace have called a news conference for 4pm on Monday, where the club are expected to announce the departure of manager Iain Dowie. Dowie's future at Selhurst Park has been the subject of a great deal of speculation following the club's failure to regain promotion to The Premiership this season. Rumours of a fall-out with Palace chairman Simon Jordan fuelled the doubts which grew after The Eagles' play-off defeat to Watford earlier this month. Dowie led the club into The Premiership after success in the play-offs in season 2003/04 but the South London club immediately lost their top flight status after a dramatic final day of season 2004/05. Gené and Tonic Posted 22 May 2006 Share Posted 22 May 2006 Sunderland will probably be after him then, and maybe Middlesborough.

Guest Gist Posted 22 May 2006 Share Posted 22 May 2006 Good manager as well Palace would have always been up amongst the play offs at least with him. Anyone see on Sky Sports News earlier about Palace turning down an £8 million bid for Johnson, he is not worth that much at all and for them to turn that down amazes me.
