Libertine Posted 28 May 2006 Share Posted 28 May 2006 I'm hopefully getting my first effects pedal for my birthday, so was wondering if someone could give me a rundown of which brands are best, descriptions of different effects (wah wah etc). Maybe of a price range of about £100 - £130.
Mark Posted 28 May 2006 Share Posted 28 May 2006 I'm not an expert on this but I know Boss are really good, have a look at some of their pedals http://www.musicstreet.co.uk/effectpedalse...ucts_price+desc I was recommended this a few months ago, which seems a decent price - http://www.musicstreet.co.uk/zoomg21uguita...pply-p-927.html

Deathside Posted 25 June 2006 Share Posted 25 June 2006 I went for a Boss Me-50. Haven't tried it out yet, but seems really good. That would be total overkill for the style / type of music I play - But I'll be interested to know how you get on with it....
Fosse_KC Posted 25 June 2006 Share Posted 25 June 2006 The guys in my band use BOSS pedals and really like them. But what would I know, I'm only a drummer!
eaststandtom Posted 27 June 2006 Share Posted 27 June 2006 ME 50's have some real good sounds but they are a pain in the arse to program and there is a little delay in changing sounds when they are programmed in. i stick to the using just the 3 pedals without using a program for each channel then there is no delay. sure you can only use 3 sounds in a song but you dont want to get too carried away as you'll just destroy your songs. but for a guitar players vanity trip it is top!! Libertine Posted 12 July 2006 Author Share Posted 12 July 2006 Well, it's impressive, but my guitar is fooked now, so I'm getting a new one hopefully. Should be getting this Ibanez RG1570, for about £500. Left handed though obviously.
The People's Hero Posted 12 July 2006 Share Posted 12 July 2006 Nice guitar. If I had any money (which I don't) I'd have a Gibson SG thing, with the 2 horns. Awesome.

If I was gonna blow my £Â£Ã‚£s on a six string it'd most likely be a Jackson King V or a Jackson Rhodes But obviously in black
Deathside Posted 10 September 2006 Share Posted 10 September 2006 Blimey - I'm quite shocked - Whilst idly surfing last night I decided to look up some prices for Jackson guitars For under £200 you can get a Jackson Rhoads - I almost almost ordered one straight away! - I looked into it a bit further and found that this is an entry level version and it doesn't have a locking trem system The RX10D version sells for around £350 although I found one place selling them for £285 - Now all I gotta sort out where I'm gonna be living for the next few years - And if the answer is Leicester it looks like my Xbox 360 fund will be blown on a Jackson JACKSON RX10D RANDY RHOADS ELECTRIC GUITAR FEATURES MODEL NAME: Jackson RX10D Rhoads. bold_fox Posted 27 October 2006 Share Posted 27 October 2006 I got me a Fender Strat - 50 Year Anniversary. the sound of this guitar is amazing. Cost me an arm and a leg, but worth it. I''d recommend getting the Korg Multi effects pedal. got loads of really cool effects and its not that pricey.
Libertine Posted 27 October 2006 Author Share Posted 27 October 2006 I'm going to start getting individual pedals instead now. I badly want a fuzz pedal and a wah pedal.
