Steven Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 I really do wonder about this possible return to Ipswich <_<
Guest Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 If it's true, I'd take the money and run. I know he's been doing alright so far this season, but with the wages he's alleged to be on, plus £3m, we could get a couple of players in!
Ric Flair Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 Would be pretty gutted if he left now as he's class in this league but his wages are a problem and if Ipswich pay us £500,000 then it would be hard to turn it down.

Oli Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 I wouldn't take anything less than £500,000. He is a class player at this level.

bluefox Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 Take the cash.. MA should of done this in pre season IMO.
Scow Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 How on earth are Ipswich going to be able to afford him when they have to reduce their own wage bill aswell? They have Pablo Coungao on 20k a week, and they can't get rid at the moment. I would be extremely surprised if Ipswich make an offer for a permanent deal.

That Counago is class when he's on form, ripped us to pieces a few seasons ago.

If Ipswich get promoted this season, then I think he will return there after his contract expires.

If we could offload Dublin and Blake perhaps Counago could be snapped up.
Scow Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 If we could offload Dublin and Blake perhaps Counago could be snapped up. Nice thinking, but who would want to take those wasters off us?
Mark Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 Heard all these rumours before, and nothing ever comes of them, so no more getting my hopes up I'd be over the moon if someone took him away from us, Levein has said he wants mobility on the pitch and Scowcroft isnt exactly mobile.

Nice thinking, but who would want to take those wasters off us? 34052[/snapback] Cov would take Dublin and there might be a shocking tea that would have Blake, Sunderland wanted him at the end of the day! There are always takers for players because they don't get to see the player as much as we do, so they just go on reputations. Get rid.
Louise Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 http://ipswichtown.rivals.net/default.asp?...=2&stid=8364821 No Go On ScowBy Phil Date: 8/11/2004 Town boss Joe Royle says that fans should not expect a return from popular old boy James Scowcroft. A report earlier today linked the Blues with a move for the Leicester striker but Royle says the Foxes are unwilling to allow him to leave. Scowcroft is player Royle has rated since his Manchester City days and is on his list of potential loan targets. The change of manager at the Walkers Stadium prompted the Town manager to ask again about his availability but new boss Craig Levein is keen to keep the former England U21 international. Royle said: "I've enquired a few times about him and the answer has always been the same - he's not available." The Town boss says he doesn't expect the situation to change.
Mark Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 His contracts up at the end of the season isnt it? Come on Levein you've got more sense than Adams, cash in <_<

Ash Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 I hope Scowy doesnt go, he has been one of our better players this season ! Also now Levein is going to play him in his right position , He hopefully will be able to score a few

Scow Posted 8 November 2004 Posted 8 November 2004 No point in loaning out one of the best strikers we have, Ipswich wouldn't be paying that much of his wages.
