dynamite foxes Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 Scowcroft - 4 34160 I am starting to wonder whether you watch games, he was our best player IMO, he won evrything and was creative. Just because it wasn't tommy wright playing!
Ric Flair Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 I'm a big fan of Scowcroft this season, but he was extremely average yesterday only because he didn't get the ball much. He certainly wasn't our best player considering Tiatto and Nalis were awesome. Connolly should be Scowcroft's best friend really because the amount of times Connolly drops deep and fires low crosses in for him to get on to he should be grateful. I think these two will work well together as they did at Crewe but last night our strikers didn't get many opportunities in front of goal.
Shum Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 He deffo was NOT Man of the Match, but I feel that a 4 / 5 rating was a bit harsh!

He was awful constantly fouling and being a menace.

Shum Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 Again, on watching the game in full after the game, Dabizas made some great interceptions and generally looked ok last night. And being a menace is a good thing for a defender!

His european championship medal around his neck is weighing him down.

I know this isn't very helpful, but he's so frustrating. Always backing off until he has to do something, by which time he has to hack the player 'cos he's so far away! If he's not giving away free-kicks, he's trying to play the ball out of defence!! No Nikos, HOOF THE BLOODY THING!!!
andy_croydz Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 Petrescu neevr fails to amaze me anyway, gives stewart a 8 and scowcroft a 4 just shows you hes arse bumming stewart and wright secretly and because scowcrofts married with kids he cant arse bum him Pressman - 7 Canero - 7 Heath - 7.5 Dabizas - 7 Stewart - 7.5 Tiatto - 8 Nalis - 8 Gudjonsson - 6.5 Gillespie - 7 Connolly - 7.5 Scowy - 7 Subs : Morris - 6.5 Gemmill - not on long enough for me to judge him.
Scow Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 Are the moderators of this board supposed to know a thing or two about football? It would seem that Petrescu is stuck with his Scowcroft prejudices and Scowy can't judge Gillespie fairly - It must be a Mark thing! 34225 I'm judging Gillespie from what I saw last night. After watching the game again, I admit I was slightly harsh towards him, although I did say originally he tried hard. He did attempt to make things happen, but he's a winger who couldn't go past his man and deliver a cross. That's what wingers are supposed to do, are they not? Hopefully, further match practice may allow him to be able to create some space for himself and deliver crosses.

Mark Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 He deffo was NOT Man of the Match, but I feel that a 4 / 5 rating was a bit harsh! 34261 He did nothing all game. I was going to give him a 3 but i made it a 4 for the header off a typical long ball to his predictable head which lead to the goal. He won more headers in the game i know, but very few went to anyone. Awful.

Ric Flair Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 Personally I thought Scowy was pretty average to say the least last night. He didn't see much of the ball and was fouled so much but to no avail. Hopefully he'll be back to his best on saturday because if he puts performances in like he did last night then we will struggle for goals from the strikers.

I personally thought he did really well considering he's hardly played any first team football for ages before the Crewe game, but having a natural right winger just out there widens the play no end.

Anish Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 This is supposed to be a player rating thread - not a disagreement thread between everyone on their ratings! We all see the game differently, but to give anyone a rating of 4 is extremely harsh after a convincing victory and a clean sheet.
Cat Burger Posted 9 November 2004 Posted 9 November 2004 Love it how we've had more of an argument even when we won!!
