Ric Flair Posted 12 November 2004 Posted 12 November 2004 Richie Partridge Position: Midfielder Date of Birth: 12/09/1980 Height: 5' 7 Weight: 10st 7lbs 1st team games: 2 1st team goals: 0 International caps: (Republic of Ireland U-21) International goals: 0 Former clubs: Trainee Birth Place: Dublin We are crying out for a new right winger and this fella is awesome, especially in this league. He's getting to the age now where it is essential is he playing regular football and he'll be looking for a move away from Anfield. He can play on the right or left wing and his spell at Coventry a few years ago proved what a good player he is, he ripped us to pieces when we beat them 2-1 at The Walkers. Stuart Taylor Born: 28 November 1980, Romford Position: Goalkeeper Height: 6 ft 4 ins Weight: 14st 7lbs Joined Arsenal: 15 February 2001 Arsenal Debut: Worthington Cup 3rd Round v Ipswich (h) 1st Nov 2000 (Lost 2-1) Now that Ian Walker has effectively been ruled out for a number of months we are going to need to bring some cover in as Kevin Pressman might not be up to a whole season in the sticks in a team that could be pushing for promotion. Stuart Taylor isn't getting in at Arsenal and unless he is injured then he will be available on loan. He's a quality keeper and i'd love to see him at Leicester. Pablo Counago Nationality: Spanish Date Of Birth: 09/08/1979 Height: 5ft 10" Weight: 11st 11lbs Former Clubs: Celta Vigo We need a new striker in my opinion as cover for Scowcroft and Connolly and Pablo Counago would get my vote. He has fallen out of favour at Ipswich mainly down to his wages and Joe Royle wants to get rid of him. I think we could persuade him here perhaps in a swap deal for Matty Elliott or even James Scowcroft, the latter seeming highly unfavourable with Levein though. But Counago knows where the net is and I remember him playing us off the park when they stuffed us 6-1 in 2002/03, he also has the height to acompany Connolly if need be. Paul Gallacher Nationality: Scottish Date Of Birth: 09/08/1984 Height: 6ft 1" Weight: 11st 0lbs Position: Striker Another highly rated player who could well be available on loan. He's not getting a sniff at Blackburn this season and I think it could be ideal for both clubs if Paul came to us, with Robert Kelly as our assistant now he could well persuade Sparky Hughes in letting us have him for the season. Perhaps as just rewards for them pinching Dickov off us in the summer. Gallacher is a classy striker with a great first touch and turn of pace, he's a taller version of Connolly in my opinion and whether they would work well together is questionable but both know where the net is. Mark De Vries Nationality: Surinam Date Of Birth: 24/08/1975 Height: 6ft 4" Weight: 13st 5lbs Position: Striker It is inevitable that we are going to be linked with a fair few Hearts players as Levein was manager there, whether we sign any is still debatable. Looking at their squad they have a few quality players and De Vries is rated highly in the SPL. He's tall, strong and pretty skillfull by all accounts. City have always worked well witha traditional centre forward and De Vries fits that bill, i'd like to see him here if we could dispose of Dublin and possibly Blake and Benjamin aswell. His contract is up in the summer but if Dublin does go then perhaps De Vries might be on his way before then. Scored alot of goals in the SPL and has had interest from Sporting Lisbon after his heroics in the Uefa Cup in the past two seasons. Alan Maybury Nationality: Irish Date Of Birth: 08/08/1978 Height: 5ft 11" Weight: 11st 7lbs Position: Fullback Another Hearts player who we've been linked with. He can play at right back or left back, but is naturally a right sided player. Had a steady few seasons up north and has won about 8 or 9 full caps for Ireland recently. He would be great cover for Canero and could allow Canero to move to right wing and Maybury to drop in at right back. Started out as a Leeds youth player but moved on during Leeds successful years, made a few first team appearances for them though. Lee Johnson Position: Midfielder Squad Number: 8 Date of Birth: 7th June 1981 Place of Birth: Newmarket Total Appearances (This Season): 25 Total Appearances (Last Season): 53 Total Goals (This Season): 5 Total Goals (Last Season): 5 Debut Appearance: 18 August 2001 Lee Johnson is a central midfielder currently plying his trade at Yeovil in League Two, we've been linked with him recently and he has been getting rave reviews for a string of impressive displays. He has an eye for goal and is a young midfielder who could well be bought for next to nothing, Levein is known for getting the best out of players and signing a player like Johnson might be a shrewd move.

Maybury can play at either left or right back, he's playing LB right now as we dont have a natural left back in the squad but RB is his better position, also takes over as Captain when Pressley is out. De Vries has hardly kicked a ball all season but is a cult hero up here. owes CL for reserecting his carrear and CL will show faith in him and wait til he's fully fit if he signs for you. nice to see you get first win under your belts with CL.
Steven Posted 12 November 2004 Posted 12 November 2004 I thought Hearts won at the weekend via a pen. Or am I wrong.
Broken Heart Posted 12 November 2004 Posted 12 November 2004 Quite right mate, Aberdeen 0-1 Hearts Paul Hartley (pen). Also marched into semi-finals of CIS League Cup by beating Dunfermline 3-1 on their plastic pitch (playing attacking football!), something we hadn't managed to do before Wednesday. Seems Hearts and Leicester fans are quite happy with their lot at the moment, long may it continue... I've backed LCFC tomorrow on my coupon so get intae they Mackem b******s!!!

We'll being doing our best for a City win tomorrow, so good luck with the bets tomorrow. :w00t: :w00t:
dan_84 Posted 12 November 2004 Posted 12 November 2004 id love to see partridge down here looked awesome againt middlesborough. not sure how possible it would be but i wouldnt mind seeing Neil Mellor down here. Strong and fast with a decent eye for goal. I know him and connelly were at west ham together last season, obviously neither did to well because they are no longer there but i think he'd be a awesome prospect
shen Posted 12 November 2004 Posted 12 November 2004 Nice thread, Hoof! I agree that Partridge is a very hot prospect that we surely must be interested in! We don't have many promising wingers in the academy with the possible exception of Levi Porter, so strengthening that area and the central midfield must surely be top priority. As for keeper targets... what do you think of Keller? I think it's odd that we didnt approach Spurs about taking him on loan now that Walker's out for a bit longer. Do you think he would be a good alternative this summer?
Teeno Posted 12 November 2004 Posted 12 November 2004 Great post Mate, Wouldn't mind seeing Partridge and Counago down at City.

And it wouldn't fit into CL's 24-28 policy.
Guest Daniel Posted 13 November 2004 Posted 13 November 2004 Partridge is a great player, would love to see him in a city shirt.
