Knighton Matt Posted 8 July 2006 Posted 8 July 2006 Has anyone seen this? I'm off to see it tonight should be good hopefully!
Guest Gist Posted 8 July 2006 Posted 8 July 2006 I went to see it yesterday and I thought it was such a let down.
Knighton Matt Posted 8 July 2006 Author Posted 8 July 2006 I went to see it yesterday and I thought it was such a let down. Meh cheers for that! Haha just kidding still looking forward to it even if its rubbish I'll just enjoy eating some Haribo!
Guest Gist Posted 8 July 2006 Posted 8 July 2006 It's still worth watching just not as good as the hype made me expect.
lcfcalan Posted 8 July 2006 Posted 8 July 2006 Off the pics Sunday evening to see it, then a meal and much alchohol afterwards, so that probably means I wont have an opinion. But I did like the first one . Next one (pirates 3 ) comes out next year in august I am given to understand.
Cat Burger Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Yeah they were filmed back to back, which probably means they will be shit. I'll still watch them. It's wholesome family fun I wouldn't watch it expecting an eleborate plot.
Phube Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Went on Friday absolute top quality film!! And hilarious... I'd even say it as good as, if not better than the first!! You must see...
Daggers Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 I thought the first one was well scripted ~ this one is a simple cash-in plot with some special effects. A lot of the dialogue is wooden, the plot is forced and meanders in a half-assed direction without real need. My daughter and wife thought it was boring, my son loved the pirates and I enjoyed the swashbuckling bits but all in all it rates pretty poorly on a scale of one to forced trilogies. If they had made the film with a begining, middle and end that would have been a start ~ but then that was never the intention. So, aside from The Omen and The Godfather - name me another trilogy that worked. Anyone citing Robocop, Matrix or Star Wars gets slapped with a salmon!

The Omen is and was always a bag of shite and as scary as Mary Poppins!! Four words: Lord of the Rings!!! Also; Die Hard, Indiana Jones, Terminator, Scream, Blade, X-men...
macbeth Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Meh cheers for that! Haha just kidding still looking forward to it even if its rubbish I'll just enjoy eating some Haribo! is Haribo a real Brazilian or a translation of your mates name
Knighton Matt Posted 9 July 2006 Author Posted 9 July 2006 is Haribo a real Brazilian or a translation of your mates name Class
Thracian Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 My missus will be going anyway. Johnny Depp is her favourite fantasy.
The People's Hero Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Has anyone seen this? I'm off to see it tonight should be good hopefully! I'm going this afternoon, will be back in time for wcf. Reviewing it with a mate for the local rag.
Knighton Matt Posted 9 July 2006 Author Posted 9 July 2006 I'm going this afternoon, will be back in time for wcf. Reviewing it with a mate for the local rag. My advice...take a cushion. It's an uncomfortable 2.5 hours.
The People's Hero Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Really? I'll stock up on sweeties and popcorn then. Hurrah!
Knighton Matt Posted 9 July 2006 Author Posted 9 July 2006 Really? I'll stock up on sweeties and popcorn then. Hurrah! Served through a serving hatch no doubt. Popular in homes built around 30 years ago. I bet if I tried hard enough I could squeeze through one

Daggers Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Four words: Lord of the Rings!!! You suckered me with that first offering ... I'd just started to nod sagely in agreement when you went and put me on the floor with the rest. Also; Die Hard, Indiana Jones, Terminator, Scream, Blade, X-men... My tummy hurts from laughing too much... Do you favour all films that exist in the realm of bargain bins within weeks upon launch are are you doing it for a bet X-men? BWAHahahahahahahahahaha!
C-man Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 I thought it was hilarious. Depp's manorisms were just brilliant and i thought it was a top quality film all in all! Did anyone go to see it on Thursday night at 8.30 (Odeon)? The film started but there was no picture for 5 minutes everyone was demanding a refund!
lcfcalan Posted 9 July 2006 Posted 9 July 2006 Yeh I liked it . I dont get too carried away on the technical or story side of it . I liked it as light entertainment which is what it is. Good ugly unreal creatures and funny stuff provided by Depp. Oh and 1 popcorn , 3 pepsi's and 1 ice lolly, ONLY £11.20p !!!

You know there actually aren't that many trilogies out there!!! BTW I forgot Naked Gun!!!
macbeth Posted 10 July 2006 Posted 10 July 2006 the best trilogy was "the taking of pelham 1-2-3" it had the added benefit of being able to see them all together
Sophie Posted 10 July 2006 Posted 10 July 2006 i thought that it was a good film in all, but i was slightly let down as it wasn't as good as people made it out to be, but still good, just a shame to have to wait till next year for the next one
