WTF?!

So you should, people cluttering the highways with their bins is a most heinous crime.

I just mean they don't leave the bins where they fetch them from. As I work nights I am usually in bed when they come. When I leave for work the bin has not been moved even though the other (care in the community) flat residents have gone to the off license several times during the day.

Saw a notice on one of the bins the other week. Went something like;

'It has been noticed that residents are putting rubbish in black bin bags and leaving them at the side of the bin when it is full. Please do not do this as it is a crime and you could be fined.'

I may be missing something here but I thought it was the job of the bin men to take rubbish away which is why people leave it outside when they are due. If they do not turn up for a fortnight or longer because the bin day happens to be a holiday it is obvious that there will be more to take away the next time they arrive.

Oi, us binmen work harder then people give us credit for.

The fact of the matter we empty hundreds of bins a day, not all of them are gonna be put back in the perfect place.

As for side rubbish, don't get me started on that.

We ain't paid all that handsomly, and we're paid to empty the bins, residents know that if you're bin's full then that's what's getting emptied.

If everyone had side rubbish then that's one hell of a lot of extra weight to take on, which can mean an extra trip to the tip, and an extra trip to the tip can mean an extra hour and a half round trip.

When some rounds are barely finishing by half 3 (working times where I am are half 7 til half 3) then an extra hour and a half on top of that ain't optimum, especially when you get days like last Tuesday when I was working from half 7 in the morn til half 6 in the evening as it was.

And I dunno about the bins where you are, but where I am if there's, say, a bank holiday on the Monday then either we work that Monday, or on the Saturday two days before, so people stil get their bins emtied every week and have no excuse for side rubbish.

It doesn't help when people are complete arses about it (I'm not saying you are, this is just me getting irritated in general), there was a guy who the council had to get a restraining order on because he was hassling the binmen so much, and another guy who I had the pleasure of meeting last Thursday is going that way.

Thus ends my wayward ranting.

I p*sses me off so very, very much when people leave bagged rubbish next to their bins.

On a windy day (which is most days in the NE) the bags un-bag themselves and the contents are blown downhill to be deposited basically around my front door and surrounding area.

Most people on my street have cars, so there's no excuse for not taking excess crap down the tip. Christmas is the worst. Massive bastard boxes, cardboard, paper, the whole nine yards, just left at the side of the road to magically vanish.

Not the binmen's fault - it's the lazy, polluting inbreds I share a road with.

In all honesty i think they treat bin men like trash because they work with trash.

It narks me off when people put their rubbish in my bin.

At the end of the day, many people are lazy and selfish. Why carry a sweet wrapper which weighs no more than a few grammes in your pockets, when you can throw it on the floor? Why worry about overfilling your bin, and putting the rest in bags? Ok, so the binmen don't take it the first couple of weeks but they will eventually because it becomes a health hazard. It keeps someone in a job....

That argument really pisses me off; the same people moan about rising council tax bills, and lack of public services. Don't they realise that if they took more responsibility, then the money spent on paying someone to clean up after them could be used elsewhere?

If it wasn't for the sport, I'd emigrate.

Much respect to all binmen. :D:D:D:P;)
