davieG Posted 6 August 2006 Posted 6 August 2006 From Sky After six seasons and 113 grand prix starts, Jenson Button has finally scored a race win after taking the chequered flag in the rain-affected Hungarian Grand Prix. The Honda driver crossed the line comfortably ahead of McLaren's Pedro de la Rosa and BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld - the podium perhaps reflecting the nature of an action-packed and at times chaotic race. The result has no major effect on the championship race, with title contenders Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso both retiring. After starting 15th on the grid, Renault's Alonso had risen to hold a commanding lead before a drive shaft failure signalled his demise on lap 52. Meanwhile, struggling to score precious championship points as his tyres disintegrated, Schumacher retired from fourth place late in the race, his car suffering damage after being overtaken by Heidfeld. Button's team-mate Rubens Barrichello finished fourth, ahead of Red Bull's David Coulthard, Toyota's Ralf Schumacher, BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica and Ferrari's Felipe Massa.
City Fan Posted 6 August 2006 Posted 6 August 2006 Just a shame he can only do it when the likes of Alonso, Schumacher, and Raikkonen retire......

Gené and Tonic Posted 6 August 2006 Posted 6 August 2006 I felt embarressed for James Allen the way he celebrated when he crossed the line.

I think most of the presenters are to be fair especially Martin Brundle who is hardly had a great record in formula one I have to cringe when he moans at some of the best drivers in the world telling them what they should and shouldn't be doing!! the blokes record in Formula one was pretty much appaling it reads... 12 years No Wins No Pole Positions Never had the fastest Lap Never came higher than 6th in the drivers championship!!
Daggers Posted 6 August 2006 Posted 6 August 2006 It's all changed since he went on Top Gear then! It must have been the windscreen all along

Alexikokopops Posted 6 August 2006 Posted 6 August 2006 I was disappointed when Schumacher retired from the race The F1 drivers championship was just starting to look interesting He still got a point though. Kubica's Sauber was too light so he was disqualified.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 Just a shame he can only do it when the likes of Alonso, Schumacher, and Raikkonen retire...... To be fair he was in front of Scuhey + Raikkonen when, he was catching Alonso at the rate of two seconds a lap with 20 odd to go. EDIT: and he did all this from 14th on the grid.
The Stig Posted 9 August 2006 Posted 9 August 2006 Martin Brundle actually does know what hes on about, I know plenty of people who are extremely knowledgeable about motorsport but can't drive a car to save themselves. oh and WELL DONE JB
