chili_con_carne Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 LINK For a league two side who could end up in the conference in a yr, isnt there new stadium taking it a bit too far? It is a nice stadium and all but i doubt they will even fill 1 stand. The biggest waste of money ever??
Guest Gist Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 I thinks it's good for them aslong they don't put themselves in too much debt with Martin Allen in charge they could have good future plans maybe that is why he went there instead of staying with Brentford.
Master Fox Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 I've been down there and seen it. It looks amazing! It's a huge buliding complex around that area.
Daggers Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 The biggest waste of money ever?? I don't think so because they are building into it alternative revenue streams ~ clever stuff phase one of the development will see a 5,000-seater indoor arena as well as Asda and Ikea superstores, creating an estimated 2,000 new jobs.
SystonFox Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 The new stadium will ruin them, I hope so anyway. me too. dirty cheats.
holly Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 i dont think they will go down i reckon martin allen will poss get em promoted
SydneyFC Posted 8 August 2006 Posted 8 August 2006 Probably not as big a waste of money as that stadium at Darlington but it's better than a hockey pitch any day.
Maybes Posted 8 August 2006 Posted 8 August 2006 Their chairman stated that he wanted MK Dons to be in the premier league within 10 seasons.....possibly doing a wigan???
Master Fox Posted 8 August 2006 Posted 8 August 2006 Their chairman stated that he wanted MK Dons to be in the premier league within 10 seasons.....possibly doing a wigan??? Quite possibly. The chairman seems to have no end of money.
SydneyFC Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 I sorta have a soft sport for the Dons as my second team was Wimbledon before they got axed. I'd like to see them in the Championship by 2010.

SydneyFC Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 But the MK Dons took over the club and moved it didn't they?
OBO Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 That place looks MASSIVE! Anyone know what the capacity is? There is surely no way they'll fill that in League One or even the Championship!
Master Fox Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 That place looks MASSIVE! Anyone know what the capacity is? There is surely no way they'll fill that in League One or even the Championship! Yeah if they get back to the Championship they'll fill it. The capacity will start at 23,000 but they are planning on increasing it to 45,000 so they can hold internationals and concerts.
Master Fox Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 But the MK Dons took over the club and moved it didn't they? Yes they did, Wimbledon was given a choice to go out of business or relocate the team to survive to Milton Keynes. The old Wimbledon had no ground and were two days short of liquidation - extinct. So I don't understand why other fans of clubs make such a big deal in hating them? If Leicester were in the same position then I would hope they would do the same thing!

If Leicester were in the same position then I would hope they would do the same thing! That's not strictly true, they chose to relocate after systematically running the club into the ground and alienating all the 'true' fans. It was part a long term plan to buy land cheaply in MK and to fund the building of the stadium by selling off part of it to a supermaket. The people that run Milton Keene Dons are no more Wimbledon fans than you or I. There main aim was to start their own club and short circuit their way into the higher echelons of the football league. Would you really like that to happy to LCFC and have to travel 70 miles to a home game. The football league also renaged on an agreement not to allow this fanchising to take place.
Floating Fox Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 GRRRRR Another team just building up on money I hope it ruins the wankers Nice stadium though
Cobbo Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 I would poo on their centre circle given the chance.
Floating Fox Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 I would poo on their centre circle given the chance. Hopefully you will have diahrroea :pinch:
Daggers Posted 13 August 2006 Posted 13 August 2006 In the style of a ranting manager: I'd love it, simply love it, if they had the best stadium in the GM Vauxhall Conference.
