lookwhaticando Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 We knew he was going to be paid for the next two years anyway. It was announced way back in January, that he would continue to be paid unless or until he secured himself a job with a similar paypack. So until he takes over at club level, at a club with a big budget for coaching staff, he'll be paid by the FA.
Shum Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 Hmm seems Sven is an astute businessman! And the FA are just fools for giving him that contract in the first instance!
Daggers Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 It's why clubs are introducing rolling annual contracts to avoid the lock-in. The days of people like O'Leary taking clubs to the cleaners have gone. Err, unless the club is run by morons.
Thracian Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 Talk about bleeding the fatted cow. Take, take, take. It happens at Leicester too. It all makes me sick. And Eriksson does the same and he always has. People may mock but there's much that's refreshing about reserve and Academy matches (at least there was!). Everyone still plainly enjoying their football for its own sake. And tactics that weren't dictated by fear of losing a win bonus. The money swimming around at top level now is not only obscene but has created such imbalance that it has destroyed the thrill of the competition, especially in the Premiership.

Here's a turn-up Thracian, I agree with you totally. What got me about watching my lad play with the other 6 year olds this week was the cynical way some of them tried to needle each other or ham up perceived fouls. SIX YEAR OLDS! I've not seen this first hand before and was *shocked*. My lad kept getting hit on his glasses and getting called 'loser', fortunately he takes after me and doesn't really take anything to heart... ...but I worry about the game I love. I worry that it is becoming overrun with petulant little money-grabbing, cheating basturds. Something is decidedly rotten in Denmark!
Cobbo Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 He's clearly threatened to out a sex scandal at the FA. Basically him bumming the lot of them, their wives and their dogs. Good work Sven I say.
