Simi Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 not thought about it for a while (used to be Paul Dickov & Matty Elliot),but suppose i would pick Iain Hume now.
lookwhaticando Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Fryatt and Wesolowski for me. Being a member of the Church of Wesolian, you're completely unbiased, of course.
Scow Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Skils-Eric Johansson He wants to play in the Premiership, he deserves to play in the Premiership. He has played for Bayern Munich, y'know.

lookwhaticando Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 This is starting to remind me of something... :pinch: I'm beginning to see some parallels with another legendary player from the very recent past, too.
Ultra Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Fryatt, then Kenton and Porter. McCarthy and Kisnorbo are coming along nicely too.
syston_fox Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Levi Porter simply because I love watching him go up for a header against 6ft defenders. To be honest though, no one in the squad really stands out at the moment for me. There are no real heroes out there in the same league of Izzet, Walsh and co. Quite like Kisnorbo at the moment though just because I quite admire how he came through being one of the most hated players on the pitch and booed off when substituted to being one of the best players we have. Gotta give him credit for not wanting to give up and get a fresh start somewhere else!

Cat Burger Posted 1 September 2006 Posted 1 September 2006 Tommy Wright because he has a skill rating of 52 on FIFA 2004
Louise Posted 2 September 2006 Posted 2 September 2006 McCarthy is definitely my favourite, with Hughes being my second favourite. Four of our players have made it into the Actim Index Top 100 Championship Players btw.... Kisnorbo, Kenton, McCarthy and Henderson (in that order).

This months two top choices for player of the month here at FT. Nice.
Loake Posted 2 September 2006 Posted 2 September 2006 Kisnorbo and Hughes for me at the moment, although Hughes isn't consistent enough!

Gotta give him credit for not wanting to give up and get a fresh start somewhere else! one of the main reasons for that is bcoz we haven't had a very steady squad for the past 3/4 years. MA replaced nearly the whole squad when we went back into the prem. this years the first year we have kept a similar looking squad. so soon some of these players will become heros.
Suffolk_fox Posted 3 September 2006 Posted 3 September 2006 I would say McCarthy and Kisnorbo at the moment. My Missus likes McCarthy cos he has nice teeth (!?) Look, I married her, it don't mean I understand her!
Babylon Posted 3 September 2006 Posted 3 September 2006 Kisnorbo.... I stuck by him when he was poo. So now he is our best player I should reap the rewards.
golden gordon Posted 3 September 2006 Posted 3 September 2006 Kisnorbo.... I stuck by him when he was poo. So now he is our best player I should reap the rewards. do you still smell of it and what rewards will you be reaping ?
Babylon Posted 3 September 2006 Posted 3 September 2006 do you still smell of it and what rewards will you be reaping ? By gloating now and again about the fact I never slagged him off. Gloat gloat
davieG Posted 3 September 2006 Posted 3 September 2006 By gloating now and again about the fact I never slagged him off. Gloat gloat I'm entitled to some of that gloating as well. My Topic on Kiso
Thracian Posted 3 September 2006 Posted 3 September 2006 By gloating now and again about the fact I never slagged him off. Gloat gloat If you're feeling a bit smug I can't begrudge you that but he needed criticising as a midfield player because his passing was awful, still is really. I thank providence and RK that he was moved to centre-back and it might also be worth ackknowledging how quickly lots of fans who criticised him were fair minded enough to roundly praise him when it was due and acknowledge that he has become our most irreplaceable defender. I'd still like him to work on his sharpness and his passing to really get the best out of himself but that's because I always expect players to work on improving their game.

Yes he was generally poor but then so were most of the team, I think also given the availability of Wesolowski, Hughes or a decent performance from Williams that CL would have had Kisnorbo at the back, in fact it was one of his last acts for his last game to move him there with Weso in the middle.
