Daggers Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 I played in goal for Nene College second team, it wasn't my position but all the other slots were taken with the captains mates...and they were crap. We lost our first game 28-0! I was screaming at them till I went hoarse. Our second game was against the local borstal. The hard lads kept telling the defence how they were going to rip out their throats. I kept telling the defence that I was going to rip out their throats if they didn't start playing. The hard lads were more scary, obviously. We lost 36-0. I didn't play a third game for Nene College second team
Head Honcho Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 I playing in goal at Filbert St for Walkers Crisps. Kept a clean sheet 1st half, unfortunately girlfriend of the time had tickets for Deacon Blue at De Montfort Hall so had to leave early, we held a commanding lead, 2-0 at half time! We lost 3-2
Daggers Posted 6 September 2006 Author Posted 6 September 2006 Deacon Blue We lost 3-2 I'm torn as to which is the more embarrassing
The People's Hero Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 I was vice captain of a cricket side recently who got dismissed for 23 and conceded the runs in the third over of their innings. I knocked someone out when playing hockey once. It wasn't humiliating. I felt a bit sick...
Guest Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 I was a bit of a shorty at school, and was always intimidated by the hurdles. One day I decided to just go for it, and got the the penultimate hurdle when I realised I'd flown over them, was leading the race, lost my rhthym, got my trail leg caught under the top of the last hurdle, and ended up rolling to withing 6ft of the finish line in a painful way. All the bullys laughed at me, and I had a badly sprained ankle. So endeth my athletic career.
Alexikokopops Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 I dislocated my knee playing Hockey for my Uni's Mixed (read: rubbish at Hockey but with fitties) Hockey Team No wait, let me rephrase that. After coming off with the whole rolling subs we had I dislocated my knee climbing a short slope and clutching a 2-litre bottle of Amberdown cider. Why was I climbing this slope? To go for a piss. Anyone else dislocated their knee while heading for a piss?
Guest Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 Anyone else dislocated their knee while heading for a piss? No, but I partially disloated mine jumping over a puddle.
Alexikokopops Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 No, but I partially disloated mine jumping over a puddle. Touché
Daggers Posted 6 September 2006 Author Posted 6 September 2006 I was playing street hockey with another teacher and the sixth form, I'd never skated before. It's amazing that it is relatively easy to move on blades without much practice. It's not as easy to stop. With a real lick on, I was careering across the car park trying to stop before I hit this girl. I failed and crashed straight into her. I was thinking about anything apart from whether I'd hurt her. "OMG! I'm SO sorry! Are you OK?" "Yes." she said "And you can remove your hand from my tit now." I had no idea. Totally humiliated I had the piss ripped out of me over the rest of the year!
lookwhaticando Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 Being smacked in the face by a girl with a hockey stick was quite an unglorious way to end an indoor game of hockey against another tutor group. Aged 14 at the time.
Guest Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 My mum made me wear plimsolls for hockey. Fantastic on cold, wet winter days.
Daggers Posted 6 September 2006 Author Posted 6 September 2006 We wore pants for PE class. Pants! It was justified because it speeded up getting back to class...it's only in later life I decided there may have been other reasons...
The People's Hero Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 When I was at school (junior school) if you forgot ur kit, you had to wear pants. Doubt you could get away with it now.
Guest Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 We wore pants for PE class. Pants! It was justified because it speeded up getting back to class...it's only in later life I decided there may have been other reasons... We could keep our vests on too. I can remember one boy in my class who always forgot to put his pants on, and the teacher wouldn't let him do PE, but one day he whipped his clothes off, ran out into the hall and sat on top of the climbing frame whilst the rest of the class watched our teacher trying to get him to come down. He ended up in care, I think.

The People's Hero Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 Oh what a lady and oh what a night!
Thracian Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 Lots and most of them too painful to ever wish to recall.
lookwhaticando Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 I thought the original question was about sporting events, rather than sporting incidents... So I was initially going to offer up a competition I'd heard about where the contestants score points for faking orgasms (audibly, and with facial expression without actually having anything done to them or their parts). Men and Women took part. I'd have thought sitting naked infront of a panel of judges, pretending to be getting the best action of your life was quite humiliating... Still, each his own.
billabob Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 tug of war, yes its a sport!!!!!! with two very painfull cartilage compacted knees i just fell to the ground in pain, and people laughed
The People's Hero Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 tug of war, yes its a sport!!!!!! with two very painfull cartilage compacted knees i just fell to the ground in pain, and people laughed That sounds painful. As does a dislocated knee.
billabob Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 That sounds painful. As does a dislocated knee. you have no idea! its like all the bones just rub together with no lube!
lookwhaticando Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 Did they have to be naked then? Two words: Stark Bollock.
cisono Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 Cannot think of any humiliating sporting events ... I associate sport with fun, not humiliation (at least ... so far so good )
Guest Posted 7 September 2006 Posted 7 September 2006 I associate sport with fun, not humiliation You haven't been following City long enough then!
