Matt Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 My iPod's bust, won't upload/download music from my PC, My PC doesn't recognise it and it charges but doesn't hold its charge, so just wondering what portable music device you have? and what you suggest? Buy another iPod or something else? Also, what experiences have people had of trying to sell there old iPods? I have seen iPod that need repairs sold on ebay in the past so might have a go at trying to flog it on there, anyone done this?
Jay Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 mmm Ipods are certainly the best looking on the market with a sleak and sexy design with the chrome back etc, The Zen as a system is so much better works with outlook, can be used as a portable hard drive is easier to install music accepts different formats BUT it looks like a brick!! to throw another in the hat Microsoft are ready to release their version The Zune!! said to be an IPOD beater with more emphasis on being more than an MP3 player videos, games etc in conclusion.... I'm not really much help to be honest

And I heard about this new Microsoft one yesterday that does sound good, but not sure if I can wait till that comes out (Release will be about Christmas time for that correct?!)

I'm not really much help to be honest iPod can be used as a portable Hard Drive too. If you've got the money to splash go for an iPod, but you can get the same for cheaper. All in all a pretty useless response.

Daggers Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 SE w800i is what I use with a 2gig card...I hate carrying a phone, a camera AND an MP3 player so I like having them all in one gadget. That said, I'd like one a bit more friendly than this thing that has a problem with software conflicts.
Cat Burger Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 I'd buy an ipod but make sure you sort it out properly, keeping hold of the warranty/guarantee and maybe even paying for some extra cover, wish I'd done that now. Mines ok but I've only had it 7 months, can't see the battery lasting longer than a year.

My iPod is 2 years old so it would have been out of warranty/guarentee anyway, no excuse for me not getting extra cover but oh well...I suppose 2 years out of my iPod ain't bad, Think I am going for the iPod, Went Birmingham today so went into the Apple shop and they said the new 30g came out last week and it the same price as the old one (£189) don't quite understand how the new one is the same price as the old one but I ain't complaining, so think i'll be going for that one.

Wicked, I've only got a nano, I feel I've got my money's worth out of it already so I'm not gonna complain if it breaks, I'll probably even give it decent burial!
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 21 September 2006 Posted 21 September 2006 Exact same happened to my iPod mini, so I tried the guidance on apples website and then I sent it them to repair it, no probs since...
