BartonFox Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 We'll seeing as Fryatt is our only real goal threat other than Elivis (who only scores against League 2 opposition) and mosty of you have him out of the team, I reckon we're on for a bit of a scudding. City usually take one real hiding a season, Middlesbrough 6-0, Sheff Wed 7-1, Newcastle 7-1, Arsenal 6-1, Aston Villa 5-0, Ipswich 6-1, Bolton 5-0 so I am guessing this could be it. Particularly if Thracian is the manager

Thracian Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 -----------------------Logan -Stearman---McCarthy---McAuley---Kenton ----Wesolowski------Williams-----Porter -------------------Hume ---------O'Grady-----------Hammond Subs: Henderson, Tiatto, Hughes, Chambers, Gradel If Fryatt is out then it's time to try the partnership that worked pre-season in a game we're not going to win, bear in mind that I have no confidence in it whatsoever.. I'd just like to see if we can muster up a goal this way. If it doesn't we're up the creek because that is arguably as good as we've got with Fryatt out, apart from perhaps including Dodds or King instead of Hughes on the bench. Okay your formation's different to mine and you're showing faith in Williams returning so quickly after a fairly lengthy injury but that's got enough attackers from back to front and should be able to score. Why so little confidence?. Porter and Hammond linked well enough at Hereford (responsible for twogoals between them), Hume/Porter/Williams/O'Grady linked well enough against Macclesfield... I can see some football there. Whether the defence will cope is another matter. I do wish Kisnorbo was available.

Thracian Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Now there is something there, but I just can't put my finger on it Just for once Barton try not to be cynical before we start...at least we scored in those matches!
BartonFox Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Just for once Barton try not to be cynical before we start...at least we scored in those matches! True.......... but it's not being cynical just realistic and it's bloody depressing
Mark Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Why so little confidence?. Porter and Hammond linked well enough at Hereford (responsible for twogoals between them), Hume/Porter/Williams/O'Grady linked well enough against Macclesfield... I can see some football there. So little confidence as I don't rate either strikers as good enough for this league, and it's also pretty rare for either to come up with a goal. But as a partnership they did click pre season and that midfield should create chances and also support the strikers much more. As for Dodds, he's 20 now and not played a single first team match or any regular Reserve matches recently, unfortunately he can't be considered for a first team game. He should have had at least 2 loan spells by now.
chili_con_carne Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Post of the year. Having the likes of Stearman, Porter, Logan and O'Grady trying to keep us in the division is madness. Were playing a ridiculous inexperienced and youthful team atm, its like watching the U18'S, and look where its getting us Thinking about it i would probably take Rab out of that side but apart from that not an amazing team but a team capable of dealing with the likes of Bendtner, Jerome and Forssell. Oh yeah McSheffrey and DJ Campbell aswell. Anyway none of this matters, cos whatever team we do play on Saturday we're getting thrashed!

As for Dodds, he's 20 now and not played a single first team match or any regular Reserve matches recently, unfortunately he can't be considered for a first team game. He should have had at least 2 loan spells by now. It's appalling really. I've always thought Dodds is too easy to leave out because he comes across as so laid back on a football field and almost unseen until he scores. I remember at Hinckley pre-season sitting with a member of this forum who remarked that Dodds was having a quiet game. I asked him to be patient awhile and told him Dodds would get at least three decent chances and score from one. Almost on cue he went close and chance followed chance leaving him with two goals. The problem for Dodds is he didn't cost money and he's not the helter skelter sort. Just how overlooked he is was emphasised at Hereford when Kelly preferred to use Sylla. Kelly's never explained it to my knowledge but without his input I'm bloody sure I can't.
lookwhaticando Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 We need a LB. I vote Mattock. But I'm expecting something like this. Logan Kenton, McCarthy, McAuley, Nils Low, Weso, Johnson, Porter Hume, O'Grady Bench: Henderson, Williams, Stearman, Hammond, Tiatto. Personally I'd rather Kenton at LB and Stearman RB but it's unlikely. I'd rather Williams than Johnson to start - other than that any other changes are pure fantasy. Dodds need to be sent out on loan to get him fit - we can't do with losing one of our main strikers without decent backup, and if Dodds is the natural finisher they reckon he is, he should be the one in line to replace the likes of Hume/Fryatt.

Wils Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Logan Kenton Mcarthy McAuley Stearman Porter Williams Weso Hume Ogrady Fryatt
Finn Claw Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 The team I would play (If we don't take the game to brum we will get thrashed, their frontline is far too good) Logan Stearman, McCarthy, Kenton, NEJ Williams, Wesolowski, Porter Hume O'grady Hammond 433, 451, or 442 you decide (assuming Fryatt is injured) The team RK will play Logan Kenton, McCarthy, McAuley, NEJ Hughes, Johnson, Wesoloswki, Porter O'grady Hume T
breadandcheese Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Team I'd play: Logan Stearman--------McCarthy-------Kenton---------JohanssonHume------------Williams----------Wesolowski-------PorterO'Grady--------Hammond I'd like to see Hume coming in deep from wide, where he is less likely to be picked up. Failing that, play Hume upfront for Elvis and play Hughes on the right.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Team - 4 5 1 attacking! ----------------Logan----------------- Maybury- Mcarthey-McCauley-Tiatto ---------------Johnson----------------- Low--Wesolowski--Williams---Porter ----------------Hume------------------
lookwhaticando Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Fryatt's injured, and I don't think he's suited to the lone-striker role. edit: and now you've edited it, I don't think Hume's suited either.
lookwhaticando Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Team I'd play: Logan Stearman--------McCarthy-------Kenton---------JohanssonHume------------Williams----------Wesolowski-------PorterO'Grady--------Hammond I'd like to see Hume coming in deep from wide, where he is less likely to be picked up. Failing that, play Hume upfront for Elvis and play Hughes on the right. I like your forward six, but I'd rather have a different back four. I think Hume on the right would be worth a try. But not Hughes wide right... not again, anyway.
lcfc_jme Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 I don't really mind what team RK sends out, because I am begining to lose faith in many of the choices he makes and also in his tactics. I would however like to see him play: Logan Maybury (rb) McCarthy McAuley Kenton (lb) Low Weso Porter Williams Hume O'Grady (play in sort of like a 4-3-1-2 formation, as we need to attack and force them backwards or we'll get ripped apart) Subs: Hendo, Stearman, Hughes, Johnson, Elvis
Wils Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Logan Kenton Mcarthy McAuley Stearman Porter Williams Weso Hume Ogrady Fryatt If Fryatts injured i would bring Elvis on the right and put Hume upfront.
lildave3 Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 My team: Logan Stearman McCarthy McAuley Kenton Hammond Wesolowski Williams Porter O'Grady Hume Subs: Henderson, Johansson, Hughes, Dodds, Gradel
ceebeefox Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 The side. Logan McCarthy McCauley N E J Stearman Weso Williams/ Hughes Porter Hume OGrady Fryatt What is wrong in this league with going away and having a go? Ask yourselves how often even at home Kenton and Nissa bomb on and get balls in the box? NEVER. So why play full backs? those 3 centre backs are nimble enough to sweep round defensively and Paddys 'Ave it clearances might find a team mate with more bodies further up the pitch. In short if things don't change they will stay the same and I'm sick of this 4 4 2 sidewaysand back sh1t it's like watching England zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
