  1. Thanks, really liked him.
  2. Under was a good player, sadly us fans had been used to watching Mahrez and were spoiled. We’d now kill for an Under, Perez, and even the Turkish winger who played great little sub cameo’s for Enzo’s team, whose name escapes me.
  3. He was the Vardy we knew last season in Italy when he outmuscled the Juventus centre half, ran half the pitch and drilled it in the bottom corner! Feed the goat and he will score.
  4. Thank God we won’t see the Manager sitting down and pointless set piece coach then coming out, standing up, whilst everyone on the pitch is piling back to mark nobody, anymore!
  5. To be fair you can’t get much younger than Martin else it’s a player manager! And he may not be up, but he’s coming, in fact he’s here!
  6. He’s never been part of the swamp, he’s stood on the bank with very clean shorts! Move heaven and earth to keep.
  7. But something our previous managers to a man didn’t work out ( and some on here) he can play a bit too.
  8. Both got left feet, Thomas’s considerably better , but now I get the irony I guess you know that! Yes he could be bettered but he’s not awful, sadly Ricardo last year was worse, that was a decline, and got little stick. I do stick up for our local youth though and can be blinkered.😬
  9. Calling Thomas dreadful yet called Tricky Trev, who was really awful and couldn’t trap a bag of cement.
  10. Yes, when the youngsters made their debuts Buchanan looked the pick of the crop, injuries hampered him I think. Lineker started on the right wing and was no winger, hadn’t got a trick and could only go one way. He came back after one summer however and had bulked up and gained a yard too, came on as substitute for Jim Melrose, when in my eyes he should’ve been playing in front of him that season, we missed a season of him we could’ve had I felt. Buchanan’s case though does show that it can go wrong for youngsters, he was very good at 16.
  11. He did play the odd prem cameo, in fact made Forest defence look silly at times. However in our state 10 million needs to be grabbed, and fortunately he’s not had enough cameo’s here to fall in love with.
  12. I’ll be the set piece coach in one post. Defending pick up your man, if he scores it’s your fault. Attacking corner, taker hit the penalty spot every time, big lads attack it, striker and wingers hover round the line to hook in the bits. Defending corners leave 2 quick lads who can’t jump on the halfway line to empty the box a bit. That’s it lads, go and win.
  13. Yes but only Arsenal fans like Arsenal, yes?
  14. What I saw of Pompey last season the ball would have been flying over his head most of the game. Would probably suit us better hopefully.
  15. So does Kristiansen.
  16. I could see he was a player when Rodgers brought him on in a cup match maybe Watford at home? Wanted to get on it immediately and pinged it left and right. He’ll do fine.
  17. Whatever the structure is its crap and we need to return to the old format pronto. We’ve all seen how good these players look on short , best bit videos. Me and anyone who’s played at a reasonable level would all have made it if the best bits were done consistently! And only deal with slimy agents when you know who you want. Round pegs round holes.
  18. Yes them, hated them since being robbed in the cup in ‘71, horrible club and horrible manager.
  19. Going to them of all clubs, he’s dead to me!
  20. A good season is going back up having played youth and a new spine of the team. And as it will be ball retention at all costs, let’s hope it’s done quickly with a high energetic press. More like Spain yesterday, who managed to play tippy tappy entertainingly. Let’s face it since Maresca we never played 2 high eights helping the wingers, or inverted fullbacks into midfield creating the box either. Players are like robots these days and need rigid instructions and the love of playing that style, our lot seemed to under Maresca so we will have to hope and pray it works.
  21. I don’t think we were tippy tappy under Rodgers in the Maresca mould. Did I see the game differently because we won matches?
  22. Fans can be “the 12th man” and make a difference to an underdog , a team battling against the odds, with a manager and owners who are liked. Sadly we were none of these things and 100,000 passionate blue shirted fanatics couldn’t have turned us round. But , like all fans, we are fickle and, like England the other night goals change matches and thoughts, and if Brussels tippy tappy plays through 1st division teams and we score a few early on , particularly if some of our youth are major parts of it, Martin, McArron and maybe even Winks will be the best thing since sliced bread. ( not Top or Rudkin though ay ) , cos that’s football and fans are the same countrywide.
  23. Goals change perception obviously. My heart was in my mouth for long periods watching those defenders and keeper pass between themselves , getting deeper all the time.
  24. Different clubs suit certain managers, sometimes previous failures click. Plus our youngsters have all been coached tip tap since they were kids.
