Book Club

I like a book and a bargain so I thought I'd try one of these book clubs where you get a load dead cheap.

It transpires that for 12 months they then fail to offer me a tome that I would bother turning the first page of.

Now I can quit their silly little club so I wrote to them. Then a second time, a third and a fourth time. Each time I received an email back offering me some other incentive to remain with them.

By the time I got my fifth incentive offer from them I was going mental...so I wrote:

Would this work better if I resorted to swearing at you?

I have asked nicely, I have asked less than nicely. I have returned the books you sent me that I didn't want.

I do not want vouchers, free books, DVD sets, posters, opt outs from the Editors Choice, chocolate fountains, gorgeous women to rub me in fine coconut oils, helicopter trips, sex, drugs, a night out with Rod Stewart, juggling lessons, more free books, money, two elephants or an sodding ice skating llama.

CLOSE THE DAMN ACCOUNT!

Thank you.

This offer sounds OK

gorgeous women to rub me in fine coconut oils,

Yea, I'd have probably agreed to stay with that one. In hindsight I got carried away but it now seems churlish to write to them asking to retract that bit.

Having similar problem here.

Actually, I did somehow manage to close down my account (they never refunded me my £12 though).

Now they keep phoning offering me free books.

Latest offer: 6 books for peanuts. Scared of finding out the smallprint.

What will it be this time? My soul perhaps? :P
