lookwhaticando Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 As to accountants ... probably! We need a few more solicitors though... Daftest suggestion I've heard for months.
lookwhaticando Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 I want to be a barrister. Good luck to you! It's an interesting line for sure. However, over here - state-side - we've lawyers and legal types coming out of our ears. There's more than "enough" of them - there's two many. It's nowhere near as 'bad' in the UK. There's plenty of them, but with all kinds of new claims being thought up, you could always do with a few more to keep up with demand.

I'm hoping to go into family law; plenty of divorces and custody battles these days!
lookwhaticando Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Thank you. I'm hoping to go into family law; plenty of divorces and custody battles these days! You ain't kiddin' either. My parents have essentially been split up for 2 or 3 years now - and finally moved out in June...
Jon the Hat Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Thank you. I'm hoping to go into family law; plenty of divorces and custody battles these days! Not a nice area to work in though, the more personal the law, the nastier it gets. Try conveyancing! Money for old rope!

Conveyancing is dull (we ended up doing a fair bit of it ourselves last time we moved, should have complained to the Law Society about that...). A lot of people I know have said family law would suit me to a tee, funnily.
surrifox Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Just spotted this- I'm a chartered accountant I'm afraid.
hairy Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 My sister and brother-in-law are accountants down the smoke. And yes they are very dull.
Steven Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 I want to be a barrister. So did I. <_< Now I am just a Business Analyst. <_<
