Louise Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 Comment from a Northwich Vics site: Dodds was quick but didnt set the world on fire - it is nice to see some speed
Fox Genius Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 I've watched Dodds for two years. I've seen him score around 30 or his 40-odd goals in that time. I'm bloody sure I don't need the evidence of a one month loan spell at Northwich to tell me he's any good. And if the manager chooses to pick Sylla ahead of him for a Cup match where we're winning 3-1 not long from the end then I doubt it will matter a shit how he plays at Northwich anyway. Seeing as Dodds leads Sylla by about 60-0 on goals scored for Leicester then I'd call that an insult. And talk about perfect temperament. Dodds must be the most laid back and acquiescent lad to put up with it for a minute. Hee hee. I think I'll still post as I suspect others may be interested. Let's just hope they take your comments on-board if it's a poor performance....

lookwhaticando Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 Kelly doesn't either. This is all about match fitness. Someone backing the management's judgement! This cannot be happening. We'll see what happens - if in a months time he makes the bench for us in a league game, it'll be clear he's seen as a part of the squad. That's how COG started - came back from a loan and made the bench. He seems to have started out in a low division - perhaps to gain him some match time so he can be loaned out to a L1 or L2 club to get more relavent experience... maybe they don't think he'd need it and he'd come straight back when he's fit. Remains to be seen, I don't think we should draw too many conclusions at this early stage. Ditto for Sheehan - he's getting games under his belt, two months of matches is nothing to be sniffed at - especially when you've not played for many months.
Thracian Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 From the Conference website: Stowell said: "Louis is a promising young striker who needs to get some football under his belt. "He's scored at every level since he's been here and it's just a question now as to whether he can take the next step. "The move gives us the chance to take a good look at him. We'll have someone at all his games and we'll watch him closely. He's still learning and growing into the game. "Several clubs from the Conference had expressed an interest in taking Louis on loan. He's certainly hot property at that level." I'm not even going to comment on that.
The People's Hero Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Dodds just scored NV's 4th goal against Rushden. I'm not sure who has scored the other three, so he way well have scored 2,3 or 4 in fact.

Cheese Me Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Looks like he had a really good game today. Wouldn't have got on the pitch vs Southampton so useful for him to be playing

Thracian Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 I asked a City guy today why Dodds had never had a chance at first team level while we scour the country for a loanee. He admitted he hadn't got a clue but said the Northwich loan was important to keep him fit.
