midtablethatsallwewilleverbe Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 i dont know if its just the Leicester fans i talk too but when Logan wasnt in the team thay were saying he was a calamity and never good enough to make the first team. Now hes had two good games hes the best keeper in the league and the best young player to come out of the academy in years. It doesnt make sense.

Dont think people said he wasnt good enough,we couldnt really judge when he didnt get any chances. Who cares if it doesnt make sense as long as he keeps the ball out of our net
The People's Hero Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 Yeah it does, he was a youngster. Whenever I'd seen him in a few friendlies (one such I remember being Posh away), he looked ok ish, not great. His loan spell seems to have brought him on a treat and apparently this season he has looked to be a great shot stopper and more commanding of his area than either of the other two keepers. So basically, he's improved. Steven Gerrard probably wasn't a great footballer at age 6 and probably won't be at age 66... extreme example but there you go.
Thracian Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 Perhaps be a good idea to nip down and watch him yourself if you have the chance. I watched him enough for the Reserves and can't recall him letting anyone down. Boston had him on loan where he won MoM at least twice and Player of the Month or something. Then they followed up with a cash bid so seeing as I don't imagine they're rolling in dough suggests they must have thought a lot of him over what was about 2/3 months I believe. And Leicester thought enough of him to turn the bid down. My suspicion is the fans you were talking to had rarely or never watched him. It's not foolproof but our assistant manager's a goalkeeper. He works with him every day. If Stowell thinks he's good enough that's fine by me.
Foxello Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 Logan really has turned into a good goalie. Went to the Colchester game and he made two cracking saves. He is our true Number One!
Bert Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 Rab Douglas is our true number 1, Logan is our true number 25.
Phube Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 Stowell, said he was quite unfit when he turned up!! But he has worked really hard since.... might explain the improvement!
Sods Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 I think the main help was loaning him out to Boston.

Logan has certainly merited his place in the team with some excellent displays but playing devil's advocate... a) Did Henderson really deserve to be dropped? b) In just 3 appearances Logan has been lucky to escape being sent off twice!
The People's Hero Posted 11 October 2006 Posted 11 October 2006 I'm not sure how well Henderson was doing as I haven't seen much of him this season, but it must be frustrating coming in as a replacement for Rab and then being dropped himself after hardly conceding many goals... Still... that's the way the cookie crumbles.

If someone comes along who is better than what you have than you have to be strong enough to make changes. It wasn't so much Henderson's goalkeeping that was the problem, I can remember him making a couple of stupendous saves - one against Hull I think - but his kicking and distribution were attrocious even though he did improve the former by a considerable amount.

His kicking against WBA defied description, 'tho he made a couple of superb saves. I just like the look of Logan and he can only get better, one hopes. Plus he's a big bugger and attempts to dominate the penalty area more than Hendo or Rab.
