Teeno Posted 12 December 2004 Posted 12 December 2004 Gemmill is bloody awful Most lazy useless player I know.
Scow Posted 12 December 2004 Posted 12 December 2004 Gemmill offers us nothing. What role does he exactly play? He doesn't win the ball very often, and his passing isn't incisive enough. He's far too slow and lethargic. We need energy, we need Dawson.
MADLEVEIN Posted 12 December 2004 Posted 12 December 2004 stearman got dublin out the shit on a few occasions yesterday and perhaps the worse thing that could have happened is we lost which wont do his confidencxe anygood.

He has become a first team regular under Levein and this is a very worrying sign. If Levein can't see what 23,000-24,000 of us can see it doesn't bode well for the future. <_<
Macca4lcfc Posted 12 December 2004 Posted 12 December 2004 Maybe gemmill would get the confidence to shoot if people didnt slag him off since the minute he arrived......

To be fair to Craig, I don't think Gemmill will play when Tiatto regains full fitness and if Williams hadn't had cut his head, Gemmill wouldn't have played in the last couple of games.

Apparently he holds back our attacking formation. Forgive me if i'm wrong, but i saw no attacking play yesterday when he wasn't playing anyway
Highland Posted 12 December 2004 Posted 12 December 2004 It says in a Sunday paper up here that we will let Williams go if someone comes in with a offer of £500,000.

Jonbluefox9 Posted 12 December 2004 Posted 12 December 2004 Levein has already stated he isn't sure about Gareth Williams, which is worrying. Apparently he holds back our attacking formation. When did Craig say that? Williams has said that he had a meeting with Levein and Craig told him to try and become tougher in the way he plays ie more physical. I can't remember him stating that he isn't sure about Gareth. I think Craig's spot on because he does get knocked off the ball too easilly for my liking.

Williams's shot was miles high and wide, a very poor effort but at least it showed confidence and bravery.
chambo_9 Posted 12 December 2004 Posted 12 December 2004 that was the best ive ever saw stearman play! hes quality hope he gets a gd run in the team!

Play him against Forest, he will score!!! 46073[/snapback] Just like Blake did yesterday? I don't think any club will pay 500k for Williams. A rumour from one of the Sunday papers suggested Williams is on his way to Barnsley to link up with Paul Hart. Yep, clever bit of journalism there...
Cobbo Posted 12 December 2004 Posted 12 December 2004 Considering Williams came on vs Plymouth, played in a forward role and basically changed the game, I think people saying that CL said he holds our attacking play back is bollocks. Stearman was class, so confident on the ball. Beautiful to see Man of the match by a country mile.

Ric Flair Posted 13 December 2004 Posted 13 December 2004 I hope that any doubters out there regarding our younger players now finally accept that Petrescu, myself, Scowy and a few others aren't talking bull shit when we say Stearman, Dawson and co are the business!! Stearman was superb on saturday, that last ditch tackle that got that retard Dublin out of trouble was the pinnacle of the match. Not only was he defensively sound he also looked so composed on the ball and his passing was sublime at time. One ball he made was a defence splitter but unfortunately it was to Blake and nothing come of it. Stearman was the only bright spark in the team, everyone else other than Scowcroft looked poor. I thought Scowie was quite lively, but again he's got no service and he was playing alongside the worst forward i've seen for along time. Gemmill was disgraceful aswell, he just offers us nothing and considering he's keeping our best midfielder out of the team in Williams it makes my blood boil. Williams is our only hope in getting the ball in to the box for our forwards, Gemmill was shocking on the ball so many times he had a chance to shoot or get the ball to the strikers and he pissed about with it. Heaven help us if Levein sticks with the old boys, we'll never get promoted. We need a mixture of experience and youth, but hats off to Stearman he came in and put in a performance like that. The older boys should be a little bit embarassed that they had to get bailed out at times by a lad that is still at school. Stearman for England.

Or perhaps they are still in shock

I've thought Scowy has been poor since he's moved upfront yet for the first time since he has been upfront he was actually moving and that's why I commented on it. Blake was alot worse than him to be fair, but that isn't hard. Stephen Hawkins would do better than Blakey.
