fair play, he played VERY well and that tackle at 0-0 to stop a Kitson goal summed up his performance

long may it continue

Yep definetly deserved MOTM - Infact I think he was the only player that WANTED to play today, the rest were piss poor!

Todays game might go down as one of the worst i've seen this season...Note I said ONE...So almost every game (apart from recent games) are included in that!

Sorry shouldn't have praised him then, the club didn't hold back though which is pleasing. Gemmill good? A comedian has arrived.

He's an average passer of the ball, he rarely tackles. He slows the play down. He loses possession when we attack very very often. And we have better options like Dawson, Tiatto and Williams.

i don't think gemmil was poor, he just didn't know what to do

if he saw a pass or a tackle he would make it and usually do a good job

however when in an attacking situation he didn't dare shoot, and would rush a pass which really p*ssed me and im sure a lot of others off

yeh benji he aint a attacking sort of midfeilder in shooting wise, but hes a good tackler and passer i think, oh yeah petrescu tiatto always has been a centre midfeilder i forgot about him

Left midfielder? Which means we can play with 2 central midfielders instead of 3, which equals more width, and so our midfielders not getting in each others way in the middle. Nalis/Gudjonsson/Williams/Dawson should only be considered in the middle.

Gemmill's past it and there's no future in playing him. You can't say that youth doesn't deserve a chance looking at the way the team performed today, can you andy?

Bring in Dawson..

Think he's still recovering from seeing a good young player play a full game for us for the first time in years today, could he cope with another?

i agree stearman did well but i like gemmill i think he does a good job thats why i dont think we should take him out, obviuosly levein thinks the same as me otherwise he wouldent have played gemmill scowcroft etc, he knows more about them players than ANY of u do on here and so far his team selections have been spot on with what i expect, like dabizas at the back again, in my opinion a fairly solid defender at times.

Gemmill is a nothing player. Yes he keeps the midfield ticking over and makes the simple passes all the time, but he adds nothing to the team. Today I was enraged when time after time Gemmill got 20-25 yards out and kept passing it sideways rather than being brave and shooting. What's the worst that can happen when you shoot??! For ****s sake take a chance and you might score a goal or create an opportunity for somebody else!!

Gemmill could easily be replaced by Williams or Dawson, who would both add more creativity and offer more attacking options. There's no point having both Gudjonsson and Gemmill in the team - they are both the same type of player and the number of times they both got in each other's way today was infuriating.

Gemmill out.

I also didn't think Stearman should have got MOTM - yes he played very well and that last ditch tackle was mignificent. But Gillespie was a menace for Reading throughout and worked extremely hard today. He certainly proved many of his critics wrong and showed what a talented player he is.

Richard Stearman, what a player this young lad is! This was the first time I've even seen him play, and didn't he play well. I can now see why the Petrescu's(Block on here) of this world kept going on about him and how good he is. The way he just did more or less everything correctly and got Dublin out of some ****! He just dummied everybody too! Top marks to the lad and well done, fully deserved

GILLESPIE!!! I didn't think he was that good today myself, but that's just my eyes

Certainly well deserved. Making your debut out of position at 17 years old and looking very capable, in such a poor side

I hope that's non-alcoholic....

When Tiatto plays infront of Jordan, Stewart hardly gets forward. They get to the halfway line and then just play one-twos with each other without any movement. I noticed it up at Wigan. The way we've been playing has seen Jordan attack a lot more although the centre is packed. Maybe some kind of triangle of central midfielders would work better and also get more men in the box for crosses. I love the way Tiatto plays but I don't think he works very well in a 442 infront of Jordan.

Excellent game, deserved man of the match.

Gemmill is shit, end of. :)

Have to say I disagree. I think Jordan is much more comfortable with Tiatto in front of him, Morris has been pretty lightweight when I've seen him, and Tiatto allows Jordan to get forward knowing that he's covered if the ball is just hoofed straight back out. Today cover for Jordan was appauling which led to some of the crowd getting on his back, when he was going forward he'd sometimes have 3 players on him but no-one to pass to so was then booed for trying to take them on and failing...

Well I usually sit behind the goal at Filbert Way but pretty high up so I used to think they worked well together but at Wigan I was very close to them in the first half and they seemed to get to a certain distance and then become static with neither making the overlapping run. I don't think Jordan played that bad today. He won us a couple of free kicks by making forward runs and although he had no cover, I think he kind of likes that. When there's no natural LM there's a space for him to attack and he seems to like to see the space infront of him. One of better players today although he didn't have much competition.

My m8 came with us today to her first City match. Her comments when she saw Pressman and Logan in goal, on blakes shots in warm up, "Have they saved anything yet". On Taylors kicks, "OMG what is he doing, your passing to the blues mate". Scowcroft and Blake "Are you a striker or what, yes that ball in front of you, try and get it in the back of the net". On anyone who was in a shooting position "Shoot you fool, don't pass it back, you are meant to try and score a goal". Dabizas and Dublin "What are they doing, get it out you twats". Dublins mess up "Who was that too", and a bit of nervous tension, cause she thought they were through on goal. And on Stearman, well everything was good, at half time she was saying he's quality, when i told her this is the 1st time he's started, she was like your having a laugh, he's the best guy out there. At the end she was saying I'm going to get his number on my shirt. So that was her MOTM, and what she was saying about the ref is unrepeatable.

Stearman did look a little shaky in the second half but who can blame him. First half he was by far our best player but he may have tired because he played the full 90 in the reserves this week too.
