FilboFox Posted 23 August 2007 Posted 23 August 2007 Started a game as Leicester in 2016 and promptly got them relegated from the Prem I really need some good tactics I have tried with Leicester time and time again... its tough but the tactic that has worked best for me and seems to hold up attacking wise although not always defensively is the 4-3-3. Many will argue that it doesn't work or suit Leicester but for me it has. There were only 6 games last season where we failed to score and during the course of the whole season we managed to bag 87 goals in total. Defensively however there is work to be done. Buy some players to lead from the back, get a decent left back and replace Nielsen as he is CR*P and you'll be fine... I didn't and let in a STAGGERING 68 goals... All in all, despite the shoddy defending, I still managed to finish 6th but by that time I had lost interest and so lost a 2nd place contention at the end finishing just a couple of points behind West Brom (2nd). IMPORTANT: When playing with Leicester, our defense is sh*t. That might just be me but I seem to always get that. So you HAVE to make sure that they stay back sending only the wing backs up for the free kicks and only the centre backs up for the corners. That way you have players back all the time. Also, play fairly long ball as we don't have the skill to pass it around and another frustrating thing I found was that Leicester seem to always give it away in their own half so clearing it is the best option. Apart from that, you also need to make sure that the midfield and wing backs tackle HARD as otherwise the opposition just skip past us at will... this way, despite picking up more cards, we get the ball and can send it forward quickly on the counter... something that contributed to the many goals I got with Leicester... Other than that I can't really see anything else that needs to be altered although of course you need to keep the defenders back for throw in's, make sure they play more defensively than the rest of the team and make sure the attack want to always attack by setting their status to almost all out. That way you have the balance of the two halves of the team doing what they are SUPPOSED to do. Here's the team I used most often with the update and all transfers from this July plus my own: Henderson Kaebi ----- Kisnorbo ----- N'Gotty ----- SheehanParlour ----- Kishishev ----- HellingsHume ----- Hasselbaink ----- Campbell
Gené and Tonic Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 Many thanks..tried a 3-5-2 last night but was 3-0 down to Colchester at half fooking time! FM 06 and 05 were so much better

Gené and Tonic Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 Yeah I meant on an unrelated note sort of I'll start a game sometime today and see if a 4-3-3 works though Fm07 has got to be the most frustrating fm game yet though
Brainy Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 Steve von Bergen and Darko Lukanovic are pretty good.
Micky Ruddle Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 My team is.... Not the strongest, but this is the team i selected to play Cardiff. I usually play 3-5-2 Counter. But lost Bruno N'Gotty due to retirement
Brainy Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 Nice, a team not filled with foriegners/new players.
potter3 Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 The England team is so overrated on the game, it's way too easy to win competitions with them, but after a few years not many good English youths appear.
Micky Ruddle Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 After each major event, doesn't the National Coaches get the boot. McClaren got sacked, and Aidy bleeding Boothroyd took the reigns {add: That's what happened on my game anyways}
Brainy Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 Apparently Bahrain once won the World Cup :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Brainy Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Gotta be aiming for promotion with this side. Larsson and Cywka are on loan. Reserves. This is Oldham btw**
TheBlinding Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Gotta be aiming for promotion with this side. Larsson and Cywka are on loan. Reserves. This is Oldham btw** I think you'd be better off playing Marlon King ufront for your first team rather than left back for reserves
Simi Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Just got Sunderland to the Premiership, went up second place behind Boro. Tough job to keep them up though. 1 Point from 3 so far.
Tevez Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 I play, 4 at the back, 2 centre mids 3 attacking mids and 1 striker. Goals Galore.
FilboFox Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of the history of all competitions on the games database without going through the editor and deleting it all... isn't there a file?
Lamby Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 I found a 4-3-3 Attacking works with Leicester. Fryatt, Hume and Hammond up front. And buy Dahlberg from GIF. You can get him on a free straight away but gotta wait til December for him to come to you.
Gené and Tonic Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 I downloaded a 5-2-3 tactic and it's brilliant. Beat Sheff Web 5-0 on the opening day. Only just been beaten 9 games in
lildave3 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 I just wish they'd release the new one now! I can't wait either, althought i'm looking forward to the new Pro alot, lot, lot, lot, lot more.
Lamby Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 I just wish they'd release the new one now! October you gotta wait until

DB11 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Anybody going to subscribe to that FM Live thing? I might, depending on how much it costs.

FilboFox Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 But once again I ask... can you delete the history of a club completely without having to use the editor? Is there a file somewhere that you can get rid of... I also wouldn't mind if you could delete the entire history off the game i.e. all teams have no history...
