I know this might contradict some of the bollocks I post on here but if I want to speak to someone internet-wise directly I'll do it on MSN. Most of the stuff on MySpace just seems to be sycophantic/attention seeking horse manure. And you can barely read most of the pages because they've been set up so badly. Then after 30 seconds you get some godawful music blasting out of your speakers. I think MySpace is one of the first things where I've thought, "kids these days..."

For instance there was a poker forum set up that I used. and I've had feedback to some poetry. But there is always a negative side. I've had loads of people promoting sites that they get paid to do. I've had friend requests from women and when I open the links I am directed to sites which are as close to porn as you can get. I had a run in with some bloke who thought a rats life was more important than a human. I don't use it so much. There is one bloke that puts up a dozen poems a day and appears to be a manic depressive. Plus side I've found one or two new bands that actually can play instruments and went to see one. Like I said it is abused by a lot of people for their own purposes. All I wanted to do was to be in contact with other people with same interests as myself. It takes too much time to filter through the decent stuff.

Like someone has already said, also useful for finding out about gigs and that. Some bands now do gigs that only MySpace members know about (or that's the idea)
