Thracian Posted 23 October 2006 Share Posted 23 October 2006 Not a word's been said. The lad's disappeared from the scene. And suddenly someone comes out with the claim that Levi's ill. It prompts a lot of questions. Is he ill?. Has he been ill all along since he first went missing from the team?. Did RK swoop for Welsh because he was ill?. Why have the club said nothing? Surely they knew people would ask before long. I've been concerned about the silence almost from the start because there seemed no logic to his being left out except that I thought back to Sheehan and O'Grady and thought it might be more of the same which still didn't feel quite convincing. Are then any answers in the offing?

Thracian Posted 23 October 2006 Author Share Posted 23 October 2006 A family member? Figure of speech I assure you. It's just that when you watch the same players in the Academy side, the Reserves and then the first team you feel like you've followed their progress for ages. And if it wasn't a figure of speech, of course, I wouldn't have to ask the question.

lookwhaticando Posted 23 October 2006 Share Posted 23 October 2006 It was mentioned somewhere else that he was 'ill'. Of course, that's just an unconfirmed rumour at the minute, and no source for the information was given. We can only hope he is kinda ill, though, because his disappearance is puzzling indeed. Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 October 2006 Share Posted 23 October 2006 I don't think he's been that amazing that it's a surprise he's been left out. Welsh looked equally lively against Palace as Porter did against Southend and Colchester, and we have won a couple of games without him. I'll be surprised if he's not in the XVI for Villa but he may be ill. Certainly not worth anyone other than you getting worked up about it. Colchester he had a nightmare and can understand why he was dropped, but there are some players in our team who have played worse than he did on that given day and have stayed in the team. We're doing fairly well at the minute and I can see why he's not been starting, but to not be on the bench recently surprises me.
Louise Posted 23 October 2006 Share Posted 23 October 2006 Didn't Rob say he was ill when the other players were (Weso etc), perhaps it stuck with him more? Anyway, this was posted on another forum a few weeks ago, another one with an attitude problem? well as many on here could probably guess, it was in the casino that i saw him, after the ****ing awfull colchester game. i was megga pissed off all day after the game and decided to go and have a word. i told him how what leicester fans want more than anything is a team of players who look like they give a ****, will run their balls off to achieve the win or atleast a point and most of all respect the reason they are doing what they are.anyone who went to the colchester game will remember that there were more bollocks on show during a performance of the moulan rouge. i just ley him know and weslowski (not directing it at their personal performances) that what that team was dishing out was an insult to the paying fan. weslowski was very understanding offered me a handshake and said he understood my frustrations as a stupidly loyal fan of the city. levi was more along the lines of 'well you dont have to go do you' and 'i dont even support Leicester' his whole attitude demonstrated a person who actually doesnt give a **** and doesnt understand the importance of his job, and the fact that he isnt playing for arsenal is more than probably his only concern. i like the guy before i had this convosation with him but the fact he used the excuse of not supporting city as a reason for not trying 100% was laughable, i hope he never gets interviewed after a game i tell you that much. These things happen. Just because your favourite player doesn't get picked for a few games doesn't mean he's got a serious illness.

lookwhaticando Posted 23 October 2006 Share Posted 23 October 2006 Don't you start! Sorry, Sir. I've stumbled across an answer. Leicester have a number of injury concerns ahead of the visit of Aston Villa with a quartet of midfielders suffering with knocks. Stephen Hughes, Danny Tiatto, James Wesolowski and Levi Porter will all undergo late fitness tests. Team News: Leicestery City vs Aston Villa Out of the blue, it seems - perhaps the Porter being 'ill' was the truth afterall.

lookwhaticando Posted 23 October 2006 Share Posted 23 October 2006 "Paddy McCarthy, Andy Johnson, Darren Kenton, Matty Fryatt and Gareth Williams have all got no chance of making the game, while Levi Porter has picked up a sickness bug. The injury list just keeps growing. The above players named first are out, and Tiatto/Hughes/Porter are rated as doubtful. We'll have no first team left by the end of November at this rate. The comment suggesting Levi's got an attitude problem is something and nothing. I can't ever remember seeing him give less than 100% in loads of matches and how he reacts to people interrupting his leisure time probably depends on how it was done, what was said, how he was feeling and any number of other factors. Well hopefully Porter didn't come down with Bird-Flu and it is only a case of Man-Flu then, as we wouldn't want him dead, we'd rather him temporarily unavailable. Is he definitely out tomorrow then or is he having a fitness test prior to the game??
