Ric Flair

Team for QPR

Hughes must have completely fallen off my radar, because I never thought Hume and Hughes' name similarity. haha.

First time they've ever been confused for one another, Thracian. (Hopefully the last!) :P

Are you not tempted to give Stearman another whirl in the middle alongside Weso then?

Stearman gave me much food for thought and if RK chose him there again with Weso I wouldn't complain. What swayed me was a reluctance to change a backline that seems quite solid generally.

Argument could also be made that Stearman has more freedom to use his skills and energy in midfield and, at first sight, certainly seems much more dangerous than Maybury in that position.

I'm more than halfway to persuading myself to play him in midfield after saying that, it really is close. And I've always said I'd change any side if I thought it would be an improvement. So, no objections.

I wouldn't say no to them being tried out in the league.

Needless to say, Stearman appears to have regained his form at the best possible time. He's looking like the player of last season again, and thank god for it. ;)

He must play somewhere - RB or CM I don't mind. Not CB, though, we've enough class there as it is.

Besides, I wouldn't want him displacing McAuley.:banana:

That'll do fine. And I know Ric (amongs others I'd imagine) prefers Kenton to Maybury, although I do wish he was more of an attacker. Never mind, just look at that team. Does that not provide the basis for a decent future. Especially considering there's guys like McCarthy, Mattock, Williams, Tiatto, Gradel, Dodds and Fryatt in the wings. There's not nearly so much shit around now. Only needs RK to select em and then to fine tune sparingly as the weeks go by.

Not bad - but I'd like to see either Tiatto or Sylla in the side since they've clearly proved to be our best providers at set peices.

I'm still amazed that people think of Sylla as a good right winger. I hope you are all proved right. But I'm pretty sure you won't be.

Mind you, after Nils recent bout of short passing to feet, anything is possible.

This is not necessarily what I want to see but I think it will be:

Logan

Maybury, Kisnorbo, McAuley, Nissa

Sylla, Weso, Stearman, Welsh

Hammond, Hume

The same team that played against Villa. Although I thought Stearman had a decent game in centre mid I would prefer to see him at his natural right back position. I would also like to see Tiatto play in centre mid.

Hope to see a good performance from the lads and bring home a result that would make the journey down to London worthwile!

I like that lineup too! Hoping for a win against QPR.

Sylla better than Porter? That's a laugh and it's ironic too considering I'd imagine you're a big fan of Weso.

Porter and Weso are like twins where passing and moving are concerned except that Weso is a short-passing mainly defensive player and Levi a short-passing mainly attacking player.

I think you completely over rate Porter as a player.

He's not a bad player but you describe him as world beater.

I thought he was just describing him as more effective than Sylla or Low.

Davieg is like Thracian's bodyguard :D Send in the heavies! I love it. :D

Help the Aged  Just taking my role as Admin/Mod to another level :P

PS - I think Hammond is crap but still more, effective than Sylla and Low :D

Shame about Walsh mate he retired a few years back....

And you got the wingers the wrong way around?

Other than that - looks like a solid team. One that wont let much through the midfield.
