MON Posted 18 December 2004 Posted 18 December 2004 From watching on Tele aswell: Taylor 6-Very poor kicking. Makin 6-Better then before, Leftback when whilst Tiatto is injured Tiatto 7- good, too psycho at times. Bad luck with the injury. Dublin 8-Good, grew as the game went on. Keown 8 Gillespie 7-some good crosses in, give him a new contract. Stewart 5-Unlucky today, his tricks didnt come off, had an awaful corner. Gudjonsson 7 Nalis 6-Seemed Tired as the game went on. Perhaps his age is catching up on him? Williams for the next game? Connolly 7-Should of had a hatrick, but a good game. Scowcroft 3-Very poor, not interested. Subs: Morris 5-Seems lightweight. What he did he did not good. Williams 6-Not enough time to influence the game. But did what he did good. Blake 6-Same as above

Durnerz Posted 18 December 2004 Posted 18 December 2004 From the City Ground.... Taylor 6 - kicking let him down, otherwise good. Makin 7 - his best game in a long while, maybe the rest did him good. Keown 8- Never put a foot wrong, vital clearances and marshalled johnson well. Dublin 8* - A rock all game, won everything in the air, including a vital assist. Stewart 5 - not bad first half, lost it a bit second half, poor delivery. Tiatto 6 - a bit quite in terms of his tenacious tackling, cool on the ball though. Nalis 5 - Was on a different planet 1st half, perked up in the second and had a near miss. Gudjonsson 7 - energetic display and most of our play went through him second half. Gillespie 6 - in and out the game, but on the ball looked a threat, always the favorite against rogers. Connolly 6 - should have finished his first chance, unlucky with the second, third time lucky. Scowcroft 5 - didnt post much threat and found a tough aerial challenge with dawson which he wasnt going to win often. Morris 4 - touch was terrible, a lightweight too. Blake 5 - didnt do a lot wrong, some useful passes. Williams 4 - got one touch that i remember, ineffective but was only on a short time.
Anish Posted 18 December 2004 Posted 18 December 2004 From the City ground: Taylor - 6 - Not much to do, but his kicking off the floor was dreadful again. Will he ever practice this in training? Makin - 5.5 - nothing special. Stewart - 5 - very poor yesterday. He thought he was Cristiano Ronaldo with some of the tricks he attempted, but failed miserably. Dublin - 7 - didn't put a foot wrong Keown - 7 - ditto. Gillespie - 6.5 - good on the ball, but still wasn't a great performance. Nalis 7 - I thought he did well, kept it simple and effective - unlucky with a great shot just wide. Tiatto - 7.5* - very good performance imo. Didn't put a foot wrong, looked composed, offered support to defence and attack. Gudjonsson - 6 - not impressed by him, although he made more challenges and hassled their midfield more than he usually does. Still has no off the ball movement and his anticipation of the ball in the attacking third was pretty poor. Oh, and give up trying the glorious ball all the time. Connolly - 7 - finally got his goal, although he should have scored in the first minute. Good movement and caused their defence lots of problems. Scowy - 5 - Very poor again. Subs: Williams - 5 Blake - 5 Morris - 5

Scow Posted 18 December 2004 Posted 18 December 2004 From the City Ground: Taylor 6 – His kicking is a real concern, it will put us in to trouble sooner or later if it’s not addressed. However, he was commanding again and collected crosses well. Makin 6 – A bit disappointed he got back in the side after Stearman put in a MOTM performance against Reading. Makin was solid though and supported Gillespie well down the right. Although he did seem to have a problem against Marlon King who was running the channels well down both flanks. Keown 7 – Solid at the back with Dublin. Won almost everything in the air and marshalled the defence well. Dublin 7 – Pretty much the same as Keown. Solid and composed, good set up for Connolly’s goal, beating Forest’s most impressive player on the night Dawson in the air. Stewart 5 – He had a bit of mare to be honest. Lost the ball on a number of occasions going forward and was given a bit of a rough time by Impey. Not good. Gillespie 8* - He’s getting better with every game now. Getting past players and putting in some excellent deliveries. A shocking miss in the first minute, you can see why he hasn’t scored in over 2 years. Nalis 6 – Played some nice passes but I still think he looks off the pace in midfield. Nowland gave him a tough time in there, bypassing him easily and getting forward, running at our back 4. Would be better suited playing in a midfield 3 where he has more cover around him. Gudjonsson 7 – A much improved performance from previous games. Starting to use the ball better now and he cleared up well when Nalis left spaces in behind. Tiatto 7 – A fairly decent performance on the left. Got stuck in well and used the ball diligently. Connolly 7 – I know he missed chances, but his all round movement and play was something we missed against Reading. He’s a real livewire who gets himself in to goal scoring positions. He deserved his goal at the end after that performance. There was a 10 minute period in the second half when he was getting caught offside, but that was the only real negative. He needs to look along the line more. Scowcroft 3 – Two bad games in a row. He was average in the first half, missed a gilt edged chance. After that, he looked lazy, lethargic and well off the pace. Dawson had him in his pocket all evening. I think Dublin illustrates how bad Scowcroft was when he won a header against Dawson in the oppositions area, which set up the goal. Subs: Morris 4 – Fairly poor and didn’t really contribute anything except for one drilled cross in to the area which was cut out. Blake 3 – Did nothing, lazy, slow and uninterested. Williams 5 – Played a few neat passes, but that’s about it.
Little Nicky Posted 19 December 2004 Posted 19 December 2004 From watching on the TV: Taylor - 6 - A good shot stopper but his kicking seems to be getting worse, he is fine kicking out of his hands but dreadful off the ground, still played well! Makin - 5 - Nothing to shout about, I'd play Stearman next match though, however I thought it was the correct choice to play Makin against Forest as we needed someone that had a bit of muscle Dublin - 8 - Solid game, best I've seen this guy perform! Keown - 8 - Also a rock, a few dodgy lofted balls but he was generally top notch. Stewart - 5.5 - He tried a few tricks that never really payed off, could have overlapped with Tiatto a bit more to give him and Conners a bit more support on the left. Gillespie - 7.5 - I must admit I was impressed, I finally saw the Keith Gillespie everyone has been raving about, he needs to sure himself up in front of goal however as I thought he should have laced it to the top corner after Connolly's heartstopping scuff! Nalis 6 - Worthy of a place in the squad, seems composed in the middle, looked out of sorts at times however and should have scored another wonder goal! Gudjonsson - 7 - Looked good going forward and tracking back, he made a few important challenges at the back to stop potential Forest chances! Lovely upfield ball for the Dublin knock back and Connolly goal! Tiatto - 7.5 - Looked, yet again a strong and dominating figure down the left hand side, and his passes seemed very good! It will be a major blow to the team if this jaw problem puts him out on the sidelines for a lenghty spell! Connolly - 8* - Looked very lively and up for the game, he's the type of player who really needs someone strong and willing to be his feeder next to him like a Les Ferdinand, I'm sure he can score more than he has been doing, however he should have had at least 2 on the night if not 3 or 4! Scowy - 4 - Very disappointed Scowcroft my old mate, he seems to have lost his edge and now the only skill he has to his trade is to float about doing seemingly not alot (I noticed this against Reading also!). Tommy Wright may not be on top form at the moment in the reserves but why shouldn't he deserve a go at getting it right, or even Benji? Subs: Williams - 5 - Didn't see enough of him to really comment Blake - 5 - As above! Morris - 4 - To be honest I didn't even notice he'd come on, he did pretty much zilch!
Stuliasz Posted 20 December 2004 Author Posted 20 December 2004 Hi guys, its the closest run ratings that we have ever had for the awards. Lets get a few more in and I will announce the results this evening.
Chards Posted 20 December 2004 Posted 20 December 2004 From the City Ground Taylor 6 - Same as the rest, kicking crap, looked solid though Makin 7 - Not a bad game, not setting the world alight, but not bad Keown 8- Looks like he has a couple more years left in him Dublin 9 - The man is starting to look the part at long last Stewart 5.5 - Started well, got worse Gillespie 7.5 - How did he miss!!, good game though Tiatto 6.5 - Not bad but needs to keep his head more Nalis 5 - This wasnt the French god we know and love Gudjonsson 7.5 - Full of running, would have died for the cause Connolly 8 - Good game from the little Irishman, missed one but scored at last! Scowcroft 4 - Sell him now and make the money, the man has gone downhill! Morris 4.5 - Sledgehammer touch but was no worse than Scowcroft Blake 6 - Best game for a while, even if he wasnt on long Williams 5 - Didnt do much but gets an extra point for winding up the tree scum!! Overall team performance: 7.5 (Looked good but we still cant hit the target)
